German Chocolate Cakes are from Germany. When Sam German, an American, concocted a dark chocolate
used for baking. It was then named “German’s Sweet Chocolate”. The first German chocolate cake was made by a home maker in Dallas.
for a German Chocolate Cake Frosting
• 1 cup of milk or cream or a combination of both • 1 cup regular sugar • 3 medium-sized egg yolks • 1/2 cup of butter • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract • 1 ½ cup of coconut (the kind that can be bought in supermarkets) • 1 cup of pecan or walnuts or any nuts you are more keen to eat
1. Mix cream, milk, sugar, egg yolks and butter in a medium sized pan over low heat. 2. Let the mixture come to a boil until it reaches a creamy thick consistency.
3. Remove from heat, add
vanilla extract, nuts and coconut. Mix well. 4. Let it cool before spreading in cake.
