“The whole day was a highlight - from the 3pm pick up at Circular Quay with 4 hour full harbour cruise including catering, open bar and the ceremony through to the reception at Ripples. The same boat came back to collect us at Chowder Bay for a fun and dance-filled journey back to Circular Quay. Many of our 85 guests said it was the best wedding they had been to. Hearing how some of our ver y conser vative and straight friends and family were in awe of our love-filled day made us both ver y proud.” “We have both been waiting for Australia to make marriage equality law. We thought of waiting and ultimately decided not to because we did not want to be controlled, hindered or prevented from showing our love for each other and celebrating this through our own wedding. We have no regrets and feel somewhat like pioneers that we did it anyway. Now we will have it officially recognised and will never forget the best day of our lives - 4 December 2016. Ironically Australia took another whole year to get it done and it is completely liberating and validating to have our love, and our lives finally recognised as equal!”
