OUR STORY... SO FAR “Kate and I met two years ago on a ver y warm summer’s evening in Brisbane after being set up on a blind date! I wasn’t feeling ver y hopeful that the date would be a success to be honest (dating is hard!) but work was busy that week and I thought, even if the company is no good – wine! We agreed to meet at Riverbar and as I approached, I could see that Kate was already sitting there (I knew straight away who she was from my extensive Facebook stalking, obviously). She had a wine in hand, relaxed and prompt, how refreshing!” “Now, my experience of first dates is that they’re awkward, at best. Questions like: “So you’re a [inser t relevant profession here], do you like being a [blank]?” and “Do you have any brothers or sisters?”, “Where did you grow up?”, “What school did you go to?”, “what do you like to do in your spare time?”. This list of - oh so boring – twenty questions goes on…. With Kate, I don’t remember a single one of those questions being asked. We met, and it felt instantly comfor table, like we were where we were meant to have been, all along. She was so warm, so funny, confident (in that effor tless way), smar t – really smar t, with a smile that lights up her entire face. She is the type of person who makes you feel better just for being around her. Someone asked me to describe Kate in three words once, and it was very simple – she is happiness.”
