A Beautiful Nightmare

Soapbox What is your favourite thing about the annual Albury Show?

Reece Mastin is the sound of now. He is the unequivocal breakout pop-star of 2012. Since winning The X-Factor in late 2011, the seventeen year old has already amassed a stockpile of further achievements including a 2 x Platinum #1 album, three consecutive chart-topping, radioblasting singles (Aria Chart #1, #2, and #1 singles respectively), and most recently, a Platinum #1 DVD release. With his new album Beautiful Nightmare, Reece Mastin is ready to take it up a notch; amps on, power-levels set to full, and Reece is ready to strut on out centrestage to piggyback his audiences for the ride of their lives. “I’m pretty much sold on the rock ‘n roll lifestyle and I wouldn’t wanna give it up for anything in the world! I’m giving it all I’ve got with this album, and I want my fans to feel the spirit of good times throughout. Reece Mastin will be in Wagga on Thursday, January 24 and Albury on Friday, January 25, 2013.

Joeleen Humphrey The best thing about the show is watching all the kids faces light up with excitement when they see it all up & running. The rides, the stalls, the events, every part of it makes for a great weekend for young & old. Alicia Mousey Brookes All Of The Amazing Shows And Things For The Kids And Adults To Do.. So Much For The Kids To Enter Into Karen Allen To see the look on my grandkids faces my granddaughter is old enough this year to go on rides, have show bags, feed her fairy floss, and her favourtie chippies, then send her home to mum afterwards lol, very hyped up.

WIN WITH ON Win one of five copies of Reece Mastin’s latest album “Beautiful Nightmare” simply by scaning this QR Code. Good Luck!

Now and Then To celebrate the release of Damien’s new studio album ‘Now and Then’’, Damien hits the road in September on his National Theatre Tour of Australia. Damien’s new album ‘Now & Then’ continues where he left off on his album ‘Roy’ and celebrates the songwriting skills of each member of The Traveling Wilburys (Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne) along with showcasing songs written by Damien himself. Already this album is being rumoured as Damien’s best work to date. Following the success of his multi date Roy Orbison Tribute’ tour last year, this new show will revisit some of your favourite Roy Orbison classics while also treating the audience ears to the songs of ‘Now & Then’. Audiences will be wowed by songs like ‘Crying’ and ‘Oh Pretty Woman’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and ‘Got My Mind Set On You’, ‘I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight’ and ‘Leah’ along with all new originals compositions. If you enjoyed ‘The Roy Orbison Tour’ then this concert is one not to be missed! Damien Leith and his four piece band, performing live.

Sarah Sandford All the fun rides, food, showbags and the big buckets of fairy floss!!

Kylie Kerr Definitely the Cha Cha! And the good thing is, you know it’s always going to be there year after year in the same spot! Takes me back to my childhood everytime! Jessica Edmunds The zipper! November is the month I laugh the most all year, and it’s all because of that ride=)

Jordan Crymes yes would have to say the cha cha its an endless joy i have been going on the cha cha since i was a kid and love it no matter where it is it alway puts a smile on my face.. and would love to take the kids onto it as they are now old enough for it :D:D GOT AN OPINION ON SOMETHING? Re-visit the awesome 80’s For the first time in 23 years Australian audiences can experience the songs that made Rick Astley one of the world’s best known pop stars - including the hits Never Gonna Give You Up, Whenever You Need Somebody, and Together Forever amongst many others. In 1987 Rick Astley was the brightest thing happening in pop music. Rick’s first 8 singles made the UK top 10 and his smash hit Never Gonna Give You Up was number 1 in 25 countries. Rick continued to dominate the world’s charts even-

Australian country music has built its success on stories about the the outback, working farms and the wonderful characters who choose to live their lives outside the confines of the city but very few of its stars have actually lived the stories they sing about. James Blundell and The Sunny Cowgirls are two acts who have experienced first hand the highs and lows of working on the land and now for the first time they are teaming up on a national tour showcasing the songs that document all that is great about rural Australia. Like James whose return to the

family farm has been widely reported in the nation’s media, Cowgirls Sophie and Celeste were both raised on a farm and continue to live and work on properties during their touring downtime. Fresh Off The Farm will shun the predictable opening act/headline act format that both acts have been part of many times over the years in favour of a truly collaborative event showcasing all of their biggest hits.

In Brief

Border to hold equal love rally this month

The NSW Supreme Court took the side of Pitbull against two Australian promoters. Jaime Fernandez (DJ Suave) and Juan Uribe (DJ Don Juan) sued the USA rapper after he blew out three dates in December 2008. Pitbull was to be paid $60,000 for tour, a $30,000 deposit and the balance on December 2, seven days before he left. When the balance was not sent in time, he decided to stay in America. He got the balance on December 3, 2008, but he felt it was too late to go. He returned the balance but kept the deposit. Justice Robert Beech-Jones agreed Pitbull was entitled to cancel. Blank Tape Music has signed award winning producer, songwriter and MC Countbounce to a record deal, and will also look after Bounce County studios in Melbourne’s inner north. Countbounce (aka Pip Norman), a member of hip hop crew TZU, produces and co-writes with scores of acts. This year alone will see releases from Sietta, TLS, Urthboy and Hoy. The people behind the Northcote Social Club posted on Facebook plans to open a new venue in Sydney, called Newtown Social Club, some time in the future. The new place is still to be built and will feature DJs and bands. Mushroom Music signed Melbourne alt-country City Vs Country. Following their single Hookers And Philosophy which is in the Triple J and ARIA charts, they have an EP Don’t Over Think It which was launched at Cherry Bar on Friday October 26. It was recorded at The Studios In The City with producer Ben Ehrenberg.

Equal Love Albury Wodonga (Rally for Marriage Equity) is a gathering of supporters of equal rights. It is not a protest, rather a family friendly support group who share the same views and would like to empower the GLIBT community. “I hope to see many straight people such as myself attend also, as the point of the rally is that ALL humans that agree with equal rights attend. This may or may not bring about political action but it certainly will make many members of parliament aware that there is a need for change.

Triple J’s queen of house party shows Wagga how it’s done! It’s time for the tribute show of your life! After two years in the making, “It’s Time: The Australian Michael Buble Show” is here! I would like to impress the need to curb depression and make GLBIT people realise that they are not alone” says Rally for Marriage Equity organiser Rhiannon Konigson. The Rally for Marriage Equity will take place on Wednesday November 17 at Albury’s QEII Square between 1-3pm and will feature speakers such as organiser Rhiannon Konigson and Sally Goldner from TransGender Victoria. Other speakers are yet to be confirmed however we have the support from various organisations such as PFLAG.

Confessions of a Drag Queen After three successful seasons in New Zealand, "Confessions of a Drag Queen" is ready to hit the Australian stages! A cacophony of colours with style, flair, attitude, glitter and glamour straight from the steamy shores of Brazil. And that's just the first outfit! This show tells the story about a young boy from Brazil, from his childhood to immigrating to Australia and discovering the gay nightlife and the drag world and its conse-

quences. An honest portrayal of a young man's struggle with language, culture, internalised transphobia, sexuality, catholicism, self-love and sequins. A night of fun in the theatre filled with classic gay tunes, comedy and a spicy Brazilian flavour to it.
