Highlights from the Fall 2011 Semester

Delta Zeta Xi Omicron chapter celebrated 25 years on Loyola Marymount University's campus! Delta Zeta Alumnae and current members got together at the Renaissance Montura Hotel on November 5th to share memories during the reception, dinner, and dance.

On October 29, our chapter held our annual philanthropy event, Turtle Tug. We raised almost $6,000 for the Painted Turtle camp and the House Ear Institute! Over 600 LMU students competed in tug-of-war matches over pools of green jello, and posed for pictures in a photobooth.

In October, our entire chapter pulled together to participate in Greek Week. Our sisters played football, participated in Service, and created a group dance routine as part of the competition! In football, we beat Pi Phi after six rounds of overtime and later in the week, two of our amazing women, Chelsea McErlean and Jenn Boucher, won first place at the Knowledge Bowl. Page 2

Highlights from the Fall 2011 Semester (Continued)

This fall semester Delta Zeta held four separate themed events with different fraternities on campus. From Winter Wonderland to The Great Depression, our DZ girls danced the night away with other Greeks on campus.

At Delta Zeta Dad’s Day, 29 girls brought their dads to an LA Kings game.

Singer-songwriter Thomas Fiss came to perform for the chapter. The girls really enjoyed his performance, and we even got to show off our singing skills for him at the end!

Highlights from the Fall 2011 Semester (Continued)

On 11.11.11, a number of Delta Zeta women attended the Loyola Marymount University Centennial Ball. We also had our Diamond Ball, which is our sorority’s black and white formal.

At our two-day Delta Zeta retreat, we all bonded over scavenger hunts, candle pass, creative games and an intense rope course!

During Homeless Awareness Week, Delta Zeta partnered with Magis Service Organization and the Black Student Union. Throughout the week, our women did service at Midnight Mission, slept outside to raise awareness, and participated in campus reflections.
