I made a choice to start working with young adults and children. I have established my own business One Step To Life. My main objective is to motivate others to speak up and be accounted for. I am a motivational speaker for positive non-violent events and I have been involved in many activities to encourage and strengthen the minds of our youth in the city of Youngstown. My dream today is to reach out and give back through all my experiences through life. I want to be involved in the vision for the City of Youngstown. The 20th Century has brought about difficult times in which our children need direction and need to learn the importance of education and life choices. The School Levy is important to me because the children of this day and age matter. It’s a need for our children to be educated and well conversed under the laws of education and how could that be done without the financial funds to govern our children. Throughout my life and in my community I have touched the lives of young children by inspiring them to stay in school, say no to drugs, become leaders, and prepare for life after graduation. Today, I stand on humble ground doing what I love, helping others. I am sincere and confident in what I do. As I walk this path, I focus only on a positive safe haven for our children. We are in drastic times and we need to take drastic measures. I am that drastic measure.

One Step To Life

In The Minds of our Youth As we awake 20 years later, Generation X has fully bloomed. We have no understanding of the mentality of life of our kids. They walk around on the planet without any direction at all. To understand their ways, you have to be patient and willing to open your mind to the truth which lies deep inside. Who is willing to adventure the milestone of our future? It is time to wake up our youth as the future is in our hands. We must be willing to take that time to nourish and to mold our kids into the best leaders that we know how. First and foremost, we must work on these five steps of characters in communicating with our youth. 1- Being open minded and understanding that they are diverse 2- Being patient to mold character and direction for our youth 3- Being parents instead of being their friends to help them make positive decisions 4- Being involved instead of being on the outside looking in to help them build a positive family structure

Last but not least…… 5- Help them to love themselves to help them love you and love the world in a whole With this being said, let’s quit playing with our youth, let’s help them and teach them the true meaning of being young adults. We have filled in the generation gap that has paved the way for our kids. We have stopped living. It is time for the adults to recapture ownership of our own lives so we can set examples of our future. I ask you all who say they care about their kids or the youth of today, stop talking, stand up and make a difference.

One Step To Life It’s still not too late to vote….

The Controversy White/Black

www.registertovoteonline.com

The Senator Obama is most definitely running a positive race. I would like to say without prejudice that it has been a lot of racial remarks in this election going on today with Mrs. Clinton and Obama. It is time to let America know that we are still going through racial difficulties regardless of what color we are. By saying that, we need to stand up for our vote and be accounted for. I am very surprised at how many young adults have stood up for Obama, white and black young adults. That should tell you that it is not a racial problem. We are at a political standpoint where two strong minded individuals are making decisions for our county. We must understand as being Black African-Americans that we are always going to have controversial issues that come up in trying times. I say to you “push on” and stand for peace for our country. It is a pleasure to know that we have an African-American man that is willing to stand up within the gap of White America and fight for our country. I say to all the young men and women, continue to keep standing in faith and believing that we can have the best person that we know to lead our country out of the deficit and trying times that we are in today. It is a long and hard fight for Senator Obama and Senator Clinton and I wish them the best and I say that I believe in my heart in order to achieve victory we have to pick the best President for the job. Vote for Obama

Entertainment in Youngstown Youngstown, Listen, I know we don’t have too much to do here and we try to bring different entertainment into Youngstown, but the least we can do is bring someone that is going to show up. I have been to two rap concerts, Jim Jones and Gucci Mane. Okay, granted I can’t blame Jim Jones and Gucci Mane because the promoters that bring them down here probably are not doing their job and we tend to lose out on money. We need to be more conscious on how we spend our money. There’s not too much to do in Youngstown, but why should we settle for whatever comes up. It time for a change. It is time for better promoters. It’s time for better production companies. Even though the Chevy Center does not sponsor a lot of rappers, they do have concerts at the center and they do show up. So what I’m trying to get at, if you are going to do the job promoting groups in Youngstown, be better prepared and professional in bringing the groups to entertain Youngstown. I understand that Youngstown has a bad name for itself but its time to make things happen. Not only for the city, but for the young adults and children. We struggle year after year in providing positive things for our young people to do. The least that we can do is make sure that we provide the necessary events to take place so we can all have some fun and enjoy our self. Stop and Think

Check this out, Black America, how are we supposed to be on the map if we can’t support the Black owned businesses in our own neighborhood. But we can go all the way to Boardman, Austintown and Liberty and shop in places that are not black owned. No I’m not racist, but I do believe that we need to support or circulate the currency within our own businesses. Not only that, we also have certain businesses that don’t support the Black owned businesses within the inner city. Its time to wake up. Its time to understand what we need to do to get on the map. We got other people that come from other countries that can come here and set up shop. We’ve been here all our life and can’t even get a dollar to get our own grocery stores, foot lockers, clothing stores that can stay open for a long period of time. Its just time for men and woman in our community to take a stand and encourage each other so that our young adults and children can look up to our own kind and be encouraged to stand for something. When I was little, I didn’t really have an idol, someone I looked up to, but now I’m grown and I find myself looking up to someone that is standing up for US and he is my Uncle Jimma McWilson. As some time it seems like our struggles are so far away but they are so close that we pray that we do overcome our struggles in life so we can accomplish and provide for our family. Its time to open the doors to success. Its time to open our arms and ask an individual do they need help. Its time to stop being divided and stand together. The time is now. I’ve been working on my magazine for a couple months now and I really do appreciate all the support and love that I’ve been getting from people that’s been sponsoring me and placing ads and I want to say to all of yall, it is much so appreciated. One Step To Life

Life After Death Once we have walked a certain type of life for so long, we consciously acknowledge its time for change, we tend to open up the inner part of our self which is called God. Coming into a fullness and understanding of that because we know that some people have lack of understanding of who is the all in all, the merciful, and the magnificent. Our inner self is always struggling with our lower and higher self to walk a positive life. But we have to go through our struggles to rise above what has kept us bound for so long. Like a butterfly, we go through stages. We have to go through the three stages of successfully completing the fullness of yourself. Those 3 stages are 1. Admitting to yourself its time for change 2. Understanding that you need to take inventory of yourself to make change happen 3. Focusing with your inner spiritual God to help you balance your life for direction Our ability to wheel things into existence will allow us to overcome all obstacles of life in time. Directing our path from negative to positive will open the doors to success. How do I know this? Because of the transformation in my own life that has been manifested through the will of the living God. OKAY NOW I understand some people don’t believe in God, and that’s understandable, so let me say this -- opening your mind to believe that someone outside of yourself could restore the ability to live upright is to say I cannot do this without the guidance and direction of the spiritual man. We are in the days of the living God and you must find out who that God is for you. Not a religion, but a spiritual understanding so you can be guided in faith.

One Step To Life Website Information for TYSHA Monthly Spotlight on Women’s Health Issues FIBROMYALGIA Five years ago, I began experiencing pain and loss of strength in my left arm and leg. Not long after, I found myself struggling to get up the stairs and holding a pen in my hand (I’m left handed). One morning, I woke to find both of my legs numb, hurting and tingling. It scared me and I immediately made an appointment to see my family doctor. She sent me to a neurologist, who in turn sent me to a rheumatoid specialist. I was told that the early stages of multiple sclerosis had begun attacking my body but had not yet manifested itself to show on any test. That diagnosis scared me but just did not sound right so I continued searching for a proper diagnosis. Whatever it was taking over my body was winning the fight because I fell into a very deep depression. I can remember not wanting to fall asleep at night for fear of not waking up in the morning. The mysterious illness was not only affecting my body but the dynamic of my family. My husband felt helpless, my youngest son grades dropped and his personality took a huge shift. The oldest son became very protective of me and visibly frightened by the amount of physical pain he saw me in from day to day. I could see my step-children withdrawing from me because they were not sure how to react to my numerous hospital stays and daily medications. Many days, I just lay in bed fearing that if I moved, the pain would rear its ugly head. The stress of not knowing what was happening to my body made things ten times worse. I was forced to resign from my job, apply for social security disability insurance and public assistance to help make ends meet. Through it all, my family and friends supported me, prayed for me and with me, never allowing me to throw in the towel. Three years after the initial symptoms surfaced, I got a diagnosis; Fibromyalgia with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Finally, I could research and make the necessary adjustments to my life and properly take care of myself. I now have the right medications, caring doctors and control over my life. While I may never be able to hold a regular nine to five job, my writing continues to be a great escape for me. The five year experience has made me stronger and more aware of how precious life is.
