Matthew 26 • 1 Corinthians 11
Every time you eat this bread and drink this wine, remember me.
When it was time for dinner, Jesus sat down at the table with the twelve disciples. He took some bread and blessed it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Eat this and remember me.” Then Jesus took a cup of wine. He gave it to them and said, “Drink from this cup. This is my blood that is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.” Jesus was using the bread and the wine as a symbol of himself. His body would be broken and his blood spilled just like the bread and wine.
