King is Coming! John 12 • Matthew 21
Jesus and his disciples were on their way to the city of Jerusalem. As they were near, they came to the town of Bethphage. Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead. “Go into the village,” he said. “You will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will let you take them.” The disciples did not understand it at the time. But all of this was happening to fulfill promises that had been told about Jesus many years earlier. The news came that Jesus was coming. A large crowd of people gathered to meet him. They spread their coats on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and laid them down too. As Jesus walked down the road the people all around him were shouting, Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hail to the King of Israel!
