Brain Tumor Treatment
How can RNA be used to treat brain cancer and how effective are they?
RNA can be used for brain tumor treatment by targeting and blocking tumor cells. This can be done by injecting RNA into the brain or by using viruses to deliver RNA to the tumor cells. By blocking the tumor cells, RNA can help to shrink the tumor and stop its growth. Additionally, it can help to kill the tumor cells and prevent them from spreading to other parts of the brain.
RNA can also be used to activate the immune system and help it fight against the cancer cells. This is done by targeting molecules in the tumor and stimulating an immune response. Basically, RNA treatments are much more targeted and can specifically kill tumor cells while sparing healthy cells.
There are a few different types of RNA treatments that are being studied for brain cancer.
• Antisense Oligonucleotides (ASO): ASOs are small pieces of RNA that bind to a specific gene and prevent it from being expressed.
• Small Interfering RNA (siRNA): SiRNAs also bind to specific genes, but instead of preventing gene expression, they cause the gene to be destroyed.
Both ASOs and siRNAs have shown promise in early clinical trials for brain cancer. In one study, patients treated with ASOs had a median overall survival of 21 months, compared to 14 months for patients treated with standard chemotherapy. Patients treated with siRNAs had a median overall survival of 25 months, compared to 16 months for patients treated with standard chemotherapy. Overall, RNA treatments appear to be more effective than standard chemotherapy for treating brain cancer. However, more research is needed before these treatments can be approved for use in the clinic.

What are the side effects of RNA treatment?
•RNA treatment is a relatively new cancer treatment option that is still being studied. While there are many potential benefits to this type of treatment, there are also some side effects that have been reported. Some of the most common side effects include
•Fatigue
•Nausea
•Vomiting
•Diarrhea
•There have also been reports of more serious side effects such as:
•Liver damage
•Kidney failure
