Chapter 1 Widow Well The wind blows, as my mother steps into the door. She looks at me, I look at her. She and I knew it was time, the day it was going to start. In our small village we have a game, well, that is what the major calls it. It is when they drop 5 kids under 15 into a forest known as “Widow Well.” It is known for when you get dropped in, you don’t come out. The parents are forced to watch it along with the other ones. This year, I am old enough to be sent in, and my parents are worried. We all sit down at the breakfast table. My family looks at me, I look at my sister, she is too old for the Widow. “Come on Alex, stop worrying about it” said his mom. “I am not it is just...” I sign and continue poking about my pancakes. I get up and go for a walk, it may be my last walk I will ever walk in these towns. I heard that the parents get informed, then they can’t tell you, you only find out when you are standing in the middle of a forest with 5 people you don’t even know. I walk over to the local library. The wind blows and you can see dust fly across everyones face, it has happened so many times no one even cares anymore. I walk in and everyone sitting down already knows me. Its like im the most popular kid in the world.... of the library. I sit down, all of my favorite books and drinks are waiting for me at the table I think to myself “how long have a came through same door, drank from the same soda, sat at the same spot for the people to remember it?” Anyway, like I said, I am not really worried. Heck I who knows who is going to be picked, but for a fact, it ain’t going to be me. I hope. I sat in that area for the whole day. I got up thanked the librarian and walked out.
“Oh no! Its time, the time when my parents look, stare, and whisper, Oh I hope I won’t be picked” I walk in and my parents look at me. They smile and send me to my room. I have a good night sleep, until I wake up. I know this sounds kinda “Obvious” but I got picked. You guys are probably wondering why I am not crying. Good question. The answer is, I am! “OH GOD WHAT AM I GOING TO DO, I’M GOING TO DIE, AND NOT DO ANYTHING IMPORTANT IN MY LIFE GAHH” I look around me and I see guess what, four kids. My age and my height. They seemed more scared of me then the whole situation. “Dude, there a dying monkey anywhere I should know about?” A boy asked me with a deep voice. “Dying Monkey, Yeah there is a dying monkey in the middle of a bloodbath, stop being an idiot Thomas. A girl said on the right. “Okay so far I got Thomas, and” “I’m Christina” The girl on the right says. “I’m Joseph” The boy on the left says. “Alright fair enough, we got to watch are feet for traps.” I say trying to act smart to impress Christina or is it... WHATEVER. “Are you kidding me?” Thomas asked “Do I sound like I’m kidding?”
Chapter 2 Tinfie “They made this robotic evil killing machine known as Tinfie, she ain’t a nice person.” We walked slowly around the forest. Looking around and such, and at the same time looking for shelter. “Hey that tree looks good” “NO WAY!” yelled Thomas. “Why?” I asked. “II scared of heights” he said looking down” “Are you kidding me? We have a killing machine named Tinfie after us and your afraid of falling and scratching your knee? Dude the thing is like 7 feet” Joseph says By now I have already walked about 1/18 of mile (Which ain’t that much) And I see something move. “Uhh, guys, there is a uhhh, Monster?” “TINFIE GET DOWN EVERYONE AND RUN RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!” yelled thomas. “It is not Tinfie it is a blob, kinda, guys come check it out” Everyone walks over. Everyone thinks it is evil and we should run, but I don’t see any evil in it, well, until it tried to eat my face.
No really it almost ate my face. “ Told you it was dangerous!” yelled Christina. “Hey! I am not the bad guy here!” I yelled back. There was a long silence then we kept on walking, hoping the sun would shine soon.
Chapter 3 A New Day! “Oh my god!” “What what!” yelled Joseph “ We made it through the night!” yelled Thomas. Everyone at once were in shock. They got up and soon celebrated. At one point I think me and Christina hugged, or maybe I was imaginating. Man I never would have met Christina if I wasn't sent to this “game” and now i’m here. Honestly I am quite glad I got in. We made shelter in a tree, no, for real IN the tree. It was safe and warm. Now we are exploring the woods, the woods seems a lot more nice when it is day. As we walked we heard footsteps that were not ours, we knew it was Tinfie. “Do you think she knows where we are?” asked Christina “No idea, hopefully not” I said looking at her in the eyes. Everyone looked at me, like I was some kind of madman. Its like they knew, were dead. Thanks for reading my first 3 chapters I am making 3 new chapters every week!
