fter a four-game in three day series in Yakima Valley that saw the Lefties split with the Pippins, Port Angeles returns home to begin a six-game WCL homestand against Cowlitz and Kelowna.
It got interesting for the Lefties in the ninth inning Friday, but ultimately they were able to hold on for a 4â€“1 victory in the series opener at Yakima County Stadium. Leading 4â€“0 in the bottom of the ninth, A.C. Chavez was one out away from finishing off a combined team shutout when Nick Israel reached on an infield since to plate Brady Hormel from third base. Tyler Dean then got aboard on an error by third baseman Justin Fugitt. With the tying run at the plate in the person of Luke Schwartz, the umpiring crew and Pippins bench engaged in a lengthy argument that ultimately led to Carter Loewen coming in for Chavez. Continued
