Graffi% By Omar
Inspira%on • My inspira%on for this is the area that I live and have grown up in. Seeing people ‘vandalise’ the streets with graffi% has inspired me to create art and link it to my roots. Typical places that have been used as “graffi% art” are undergrounds, bridges, walls, alleyways and much more. Graffi% is there to leave a mark or someone to let others know of their area, feelings, etc. I will use this inspira%on to create a much crea%ve art-‐ piece that people will enjoy. I will use my photography skills to give the audience the feel of how ‘vandalising’ feels and how it is being used to create art around areas that ain’t being showed much love, care and aIen%on.
Looking at other graffi% • I will go around my local borough and look at graffi% and capture and image as if I was the one doing it. I will go to undergrounds, bridges and hideouts where graffi% is likely to be and capture an image.
Ideas • Some of my ideas are spraying a person in a hoodie to relate to the east London life. I will have a detailed corner of tribal artwork that spreads out in the piece of work. I will have a background piece of a £10 note, but instead of the queen in on the note, it will be the person in the hoodie so show domina%on in east London.
