The OKT’s ultimate goal for the karters is to progress through a well-planned projection plan which will see them move steadily up the ranks of motorsport including lower Formula racing, such as Formula Gulf 1000 (FG1000), Formula Renault or BMW and eventually to represent Oman in Formula 1
Karting has been a successful stepping stone for many names in the higher echelons of motorsport . Most professional F1 drivers, including world renowned driver, LEWIS HAMILTON, started their racing career in Karting and then moved up the ranks to Formula 1. Karting
is considered an excellent platform to tailor a driver’s racing skills and to begin the epic relationship between man and machine. The OKT’s aim is to strive for podium positions in Regional and International Championships and put the Sultanate of Oman on the map for motorsports.
The OKT is the first motorsport related team dedicated to the promotion and advancement of motorsport in Oman through young Omani drivers. OKT was established in 2009 and officially launched in January 2010 as a driver development program for young Omani.
These two talented team drivers have attracted lots of media attention due to their exceptional performance in the UAE Rotax Max Challenge, FIA/CIK under 18 World Championship, European Championships and the RMC World Grand Finals.
OKT is registered under Oman Automobile Association and has received endorsements from well known Omani drivers: • Hamad Al Wahaibi • Ahmad Al Harthy
