HOLT COUNTY

ABOUT

Holt County, Nebraska, is the heartland at its finest—a place where rolling Sandhills stretch as far as the eye can see and neighbors know each other by name. Located in the north-central part of the state, this area is rich in agriculture, with its fertile land providing the backbone for corn, soybeans, and cattle ranching.

Atkinson is located in Holt County in the north-central region of Nebraska in the Elkhorn Valley. The community includes both in-town and rural farm and ranch families.

The county seat, O’Neill, proudly claims the title of Nebraska’s Irish Capital, celebrating its heritage with an annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Life here moves at a steady, honest pace, rooted in hard work, faith, and family. In Holt County, simple joys truly shine.
