BOARD Terry W. Burroughs

is a retired telecommunications executive with over 32 years in the industry. Upon retiring, he moved back to Okeechobee to manage the family business. Since his return he has been involved with different organizations in the community. He currently is the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Okeechobee County, as well as District 4 County Commissioner. He is the past president of the Okeechobee Rotary Club and serves on various boards in the community, i.e., City Planning Board, Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers, Raulerson Hospital Board of Trustees and the Agri-Civic Center Advisory Group. He is currently the Chairman of Florida’s Research Coast Economic Development Coalition. He is married to his wife, Maureen of 24 years and has three children and six grandchildren.

Russ Brown

proudly serves as Indian River State College’s Provost for the Dixon-Hendry campus in Okeechobee. He has spent 20 years in the education arena, holding various positions for the Okeechobee County School Board grades K-12 and as Chief Executive Officer and Principal for Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School on the Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation. Russ is very involved within the community participating in many organizations, such as board member of the Okeechobee Education Foundation, United Way of Okeechobee, Advisory Board for the FloridaLearns STEM Scholars, Okeechobee County Community Health Advisory Team, spokesperson for the Okeechobee March of Dimes, Executive Roundtable for the Shared Services Network of Okeechobee, IRSC’s School of Education Collaboration Team and takes part in the Economic Development Council of Okeechobee. He was born in Miami and is a graduate of Okeechobee High School. He is the proud father of Alexis, Ashtyn and Boyd.

Wayne Cunningham

is the general manager of Glades Media Radio stations WOKC 1570AM and 100.9FM along with WAFC 106.1FM Radio Fiesta, both located in Okeechobee. His broadcast career has covered more than four decades in radio and television. Before returning home to Okeechobee in 2003, Wayne was group marketing manager for the Meredith Television Group in Des Moines, IA and television research group manager for Sinclair Broadcasting. Wayne was the long-time promotions manager and research director at WPTV Channel 5, West Palm Beach. Locally, Wayne has served on the board of directors for the United Way, Ag-Venture and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Okeechobee. He has also served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Okeechobee Advisory Committee and the 2-1-1 Advisory Board. Wayne’s daughters and son have blessed him with seven grandchildren so far.

Willard (Bill) Dover

is a retired lawyer with decades of practice in Fort Lauderdale after graduating from the University of Minnesota law school. He and his wife, Diane, live in Indian Hammock. Bill was a founding member of the South Florida Manufacturers Association, and a former chairman of the Broward Workshop, Florida Council on Economic Education and Florida Council of 100. His primary interest in Okeechobee is economic development to promote capital investment and employment for our county.

Susan Giddings

is the publisher and owner of Okeechobee The Magazine. She holds degrees in business administration and accounting. She is very community minded and extremely involved locally in volunteering for various local, civic and charity organizations and currently sits on the board of Martha’s House as the treasurer. Susan is married to husband, Ray, and has two adult daughters.
