ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS Rain or shine, we have the opportunities that will put a smile on your face and the “North Okanagan” spirit in your heart. With three lakes in the Greater Vernon area-- Okanagan Lake, Kalamalka Lake and Swan Lake, and Shuswap Lake to the North, summer is packed with beach time and water activities like swimming, tubing, wakeboarding and kayaking. If you feel like stepping away from the beach, check out one of the many world-class golf courses offered in the North Okanagan Shuswap. The area also has some of the best hiking and biking trails in the province, luring you out for an afternoon, or maybe a few days of adventure.

The local Farmers’ Markets, hosted primarily during the summertime, are vibrant places to discover some excellent treats, fresh foods and artisan crafts. Davison Orchards offers tours, homemade treats, gifts and of course, delicious fruits and vegetables for purchase. Nearby, check out Planet Bee Honey Farm & Honeymoon Meadery where you can watch live honeybees busily working and take home a ‘Treasure of the Hive.’

Salmon Arm has plenty to offer, most notably the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this festival takes place the third weekend of every August at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds. During the day you will find six stages that feature Blues, World, Alt-Roots, Folk, Dance & more, while at night there are two main stages that run simultaneously. The family friendly environment also provides a Global Food Village and is a great target for friends and families coming together under the sunny skies.

With Silver Star and the Monashee Mountains in our backyard, they create the perfect winter playground & getaway for skiers, snowboarders and all winter enthusiasts. The annual Vernon Winter Carnival is a definite must, with the parade,

Heading just north of Vernon, step into the past at the Historic O’Keefe Ranch, beckoning you to explore days long forgotten. Armstrong is host to the Interior Provincial Exhibition (IPE) and is a wonderful way to spend part of your September long weekend. Grab a movie under the stars at Enderby’s Starlight Drive-In Theatre or head to Lumby for their annual Lumby Days celebrations every June.

From Okanagan Lake to Shuswap Lake, and everywhere in between, adventures, stories, learning experiences, and tons of fun can be had by all.
