Thank you for your interest in the training opportunities the College has offered in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 450 registrations, we hope you have found the training valuable. Continuing Studies and Corporate Training, Learning and Applied Research and Education Technology and IT Services have assembled an array of courses for you to choose from to boost your knowledge and skills. Please consult with your supervisor as you consider which professional development opportunities will benefit you most. You’ll also find on the Online Resources page a host of links to online learning resources, best practices and suggestions from Learning and Teaching and Education Technology, from tutorials on Blackboard Collaborate to many other tools. Four Seasons of Reconciliation This unique online course promotes a renewed relationship between Indigenous peoples and Canadians through transformative learning about truth and reconciliation. This professional development unit provides a basic foundational knowledge on truth and reconciliation that nearly all Canadians missed during their education and is intended for Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners. This unit will provide you with a concise primer on the historical and contemporary relationship between Indigenous peoples and those who settled on their lands and in Canada. This unit also shines a bright light on the contributions of Indigenous peoples and debunks myths and stereotypes.

Learning Outcomes:

• Identify historical events and biases shaping the Canadian landscape historical narratives.

• Recognize the historical and contemporary contributions of, and challenges faced by Indigenous peoples.

Introduction to Project Management Foundation for Success The goal of this course is to provide project management methods, skills, tools and techniques that will assist you on your journey of learning how to successfully plan and manage projects while providing value to your organization. The course content aligns with the Project Management Institute, Inc. “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).” It is specifically designed to focus on the practical application of concepts that are the foundation for project success in the working world. As you proceed through this course you will build a solid foundation of project management knowledge, techniques and tools that cover the entire project life cycle.

• Explain the steps in the project life cycle and the value/purpose of each one. • Perform the steps required to determine the critical path for a project. • Determine strategies for involving and engaging stakeholders. • Apply two powerful techniques to ensure your meetings add value. • Identify and plan for impacts to your project (risk management).
