LAHAINA BAPTIST CHURCH

PASTOR CHRIS’ CORNER

Aloha kakou, July is an awesome month of ministry for LBC! We are moving forward in many ways as a body: • The building program is growing and God is blessing our fund-raising efforts! • The Resort Ministry-Church Plant is scheduled for the kick-off in October! • Discipleship groups are growing in many places as lives are growing in Christ! • Youth and Kids Camp at Keanae were awesome and God is blessing our students! • Baptisms are on the rise and we are celebrating more each month! …and more and more is going on around us! God is doing great things in our midst and we pray for Him to keep us on His path for more and more blessings! We are continuing a study on Wednesday nights following Paul’s missionary journeys. As we have moved through his first journey, join us to learn more about Paul’s methods of ministry and the incredible ways that God used him to reach his world for Christ. This is an engaging study and contains many practical tools for us as we grow in our lives of faith. Also, be looking for

church-planting trainings that will be coming on Wednesday nights in August and September. For those who are interested in this exciting work, please let me or Pastor Gary know! On Sundays through the month of July, we will be studying the life together that God has given to us in Christ. Together is our theme, so be looking for the ways God will encourage and strengthen you to be active in the lives of others in the walk in Christ and how God will use us to impact West Maui and the world through Him. Remember: pushing out the darkness through Christ! Mahalo again for the wonderful privilege that you have given me to be your pastor. I pray for God’s continued blessings on us all, as we grow closer to Him.

Until next month, Aloha in Christ, Pastor Chris

Live Beyond Yourself

In our own strength, we are often powerless to address the challenges that confront us. In our own strength, we can be discouraged by situations in our lives. Jesus knew His disciples would be powerless and discouraged when He left them. He promised to send them a Counselor, who would lead them to the truth. Those who find the Truth have been set free from the penalty, condemnation, and power of sin. All believers can live victorious lives empowered by the Holy Spirit. All believers can make wise choices as the Spirit guides them. All believers can be confident and assured of God’s presence in their lives. All believers can live beyond themselves reflecting the presence and power of God. Join us every Sunday at 9 in July as we examine the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Learn with us as we discover how to live courageously and confidently through the power of the Holy Spirit. Scripture for July: 1 Corinthians 2:12 New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.
