Guest of Honor Secretary Michael Krancer

G

uest of Honor at the Northeast Oil & Gas Awards was Secretary Michael Krancer of the Department of Environmental Protection for Pennsylvania. Michael Krancer was first nominated to serve as a Judge on the EHB by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge in October 1999. In February 2003, Judge Krancer was named by Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell as Chief Judge and Chairman. Michael serves on the Board of Directors of Inn Dwelling, a non-profit faith-based initiative corporation associated with St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, whose mission is capacity-building among disadvantaged families in the Germantown and Northeast sections of Philadelphia. In January 2011 Michael was nominated by Governor Tom Corbett to be the Secretary of Environment Protection (DEP).

Some of the highlights from Sec. Krancer’s keynote address: “We have got a world class play here, we’ve got world class players and we certainly have world class expectations, and I think they are being met in terms of environmental stewardship and responsibility right here in Pennsylvania.” “We’ve awakened two refineries in Philadelphia that were dead, the other one is repurposed to be connected with what’s going on in this part of the state.
