Did You Know? “Kosher” refers to food that may be consumed according to Jewish dietary laws. Kashrut is the body of Jewish law dealing with what foods we can and cannot eat and how those foods must be prepared and eaten. “Halal” is commonly used in reference to foods that are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Shari’ah or Islamic law). The criteria specify what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. Mostly, the foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue. Source: www.wikipedia.org
