The MLC (Miccosukee Land Co-op) “as built” drawings project was a great way for me to get my feet wet. The Co-op was looking for an architectural student to come in and draw a few detailed plans of their existing community center. The old plans had been lost and the aging community wanted to renovate the building. The renovation was going to be involved. The plans would be used to make wind load estimates by a structural engineer in order to replace existing screened in openings with glazing. The budget was set and timeline was created for the completion of the plans. Both were met on par.
