The Hospitality Internship Position... Overlake Golf & Country Club (OGCC) was originally established in 1927 on this beautiful site in the hidden neighborhood of Medina, Washington. It has evolved over the years into a family-friendly country Club with modern values and has become a place where the Members gather to enjoy dining, social activities, golf, tennis and aquatics with family, friends, and business associates. We are known as the premier family Club in the Pacific Northwest and we take great pride in our unrivaled hospitality, our commitment to environmental stewardship, and in developing our Staff. We are seeking engaged students who aspire to a career in hospitality and who desire a hands-on and challenging opportunity to receive exposure in the proper fundamentals of hospitality and Member services. Successful candidates will have completed a minimum of one year in a hospitality program at an accredited university or learning institution. Individuals must have strong communication skills, the ability to handle a variety of situations with Members and Staff, a desire to excel, a sense of flexibility with the capability to multitask, and a friendly attitude that contributes to our positive work environment and Team atmosphere.
Hospitality/Food & Beverage Summer Intern Department: Food and Beverage Reports To: Clubhouse Manager, Food & Beverage
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES •Play an integral part as a server for a la carte lunch and dinner and for Club events and private events. •Complete rotations, shifts, and assignments throughout all aspects of the Club’s service areas including shadowing bartending, hostess, inventory management, snack bar services, reception, and kitchen operations. •Complete a rotation in at least one additional area of interest within the Club (golf, racquets, swim, accounting, grounds & greens, events.) •Attend a weekly intern meeting conducted by various Department Heads and Managers (this is an 8-session series.) •Tour three other PNW Private Clubs with a cointern and OGCC Management. •Produce an end-of-summer presentation on key learnings along with ideas for department innovation and improvement. •Complete an Internship Wrap-up Questionnaire and an exit interview conducted by the General Manager. POSITION COMPENSATION & BENEFITS •$20 per hour paid internship •$500 10-week program completion bonus •$50 per week transportation stipend •Uniform •Daily meals
