CEPROM reserves the right to publish (electronically and in print) the names of Seminar participants and paper and poster titles and abstracts. Decisions concerning the acceptance of proposals rest solely with CEPROM as communicated by the Chair of the Commission. In addition to quality and relevance to the seminar theme, international representation may play a role in paper selection. Presenters will be required to confirm participation by 15 March 2014, by booking for the Seminar.
Failure to register by this date as confirmation of your participation will result in your presentation being withdrawn. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS 1. All submissions must be a complete paper (not an abstract). Abstract-only submissions will not be reviewed. 2. The paper should report recently completed research that contributes to the theory or practice of music education and relates to the aims of the Commission for the Education of the Professional Musician (CEPROM) 3. Submit by completing the information page and then uploading your paper directly to the CEPROM submission web page. 4. The paper must be submitted in English. If this poses a problem please contact the Commission Chair to discuss options. 5. Full title of the proposal (again, but without author names and affiliations) Abstract Five keywords Full proposal (including tables and figures within the file) Acknowledgements if any References.
Note: It is imperative that, while the cover page needs to name the author(s) and institutional affiliation(s), all references to the author should be removed by the author from the paper itself prior to submission; “XXX” may be used in place of the author’s name. This enables the paper to be distributed for blind peer review. Submissions not conforming to this requirement will not be reviewed. Authors should read carefully and strictly observe the template and formatting guidelines for full paper submissions to ISME Commissions and Conferences. The paper submissions guidelines are available on the conference website (http://www.isme.org/isme2014). Submissions not conforming to the requirements will not be considered.
If a multiple-author paper is selected for the Seminar, only one author will be invited. The other authors may attend as observers/participants. 6. Please note that papers submitted for the Seminar should not have been previously published or be currently submitted for publication. Papers should contain original data not previously published, presented, or submitted for presentation at any other conferences or symposia. 7. Upon submission, the author will be required to check a box acknowledging compliance with the ISME Copyright Agreement, stating that the author will retain copyright of the original submission for purposes of duplicating the article, placing it on their personal and institutional websites, etc., but will give ISME the first and exclusive rights to publish the ISME-formatted and edited version in print or online in ISME conference or Seminar proceedings and/or journals. POSTER PRESENTATION AT THE SEMINAR (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 15-18 July 2014) Some submissions that are not accepted for presentation as full papers at the Seminar will be eligible for presentation as posters. The CEPROM Chair will contact you directly to advise you if your submission has been accepted as a poster presentation. POSTER PRESENTATION AT THE WORLD CONFERENCE (Porto Alegre, Brazil, 20-25 July 2014) Presenters at the CEPROM SEMINAR are invited to present their research as a poster at the World Conference in Porto Alegre. Because Seminar presentations have been reviewed by CEPROM already, they will not go through review again by the World Conference committee. They will be accepted on recommendation of the CEPROM Chair. WHERE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS Submissions will be accepted online only. In cases where online submission is not possible or causes undue hardship, alternative submission methods may be considered; please contact the Commission Chair (email@example.com) or ISME Secretariat for more information (firstname.lastname@example.org). DEADLINE All submissions must be made no later than 1 November 2013. For both the CEPROM SEMINAR and Poster Session at the ISME World Conference, presenters will be notified of acceptance on or before 1 March 2014.
Note It is a requirement for all presenters/authors named on a submission and who attend the Commission Seminar, to be an ISME Individual Member at the time of submission, at the time of acceptance, and at the time of presentation. It is preferable that seminar attendees (who attend as observers only) be individual ISME members at the time of booking to attend the Seminar, but non-members are not precluded from attending.
