The Community Music Activities Seminar was held at the Accademia Nazionale de Santa Cecillia in Rome, Italy July 16 – 18, 2000 in Auditorium Parco della Musica of Rome, the most prestigious concert hall of the city. Our host chairs were Andrea Sangiorgio and Valentina Iadeluca from the CDM onlus Centro Didattico Musicale, Rome, Italy. There were 28 presenters representing 10 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Portugal, UK, and the USA. There were 15 other participants, representing a further two countries: The Netherlands and China. The seminar reflected on the following five themes: 1.

Community Music and Leadership

Community Music and Social Capital

The commissioners were pleased to see continued growth in the number and quality of presentations and in the collaborations that have developed among seminar presenters during the periods of time between the bi-annual seminars.
