From the Desk of: Cindy Wishon The wise old Mother Superior was dying. The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make her comfortable. They gave her some warm milk to drink, but she refused it. Then one nun took the glass back to the kitchen. Remembering a bottle of Irish whiskey they had received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened and poured a generous amount into the warm milk. When she walked back to Mother Superior’s bed, she held the glass to her lips. Mother drank a little, then a little more. Before they knew it, she had drunk the whole glass down to the last drop. “ Mother,” the nuns asked with earnest, “please give us some wisdom before you die.” She raised herself up in bed with pious look on her face and said, “ Don’t sell that cow!!”

GAMBLE ELEMENTARY What great singing and enjoyment we got when Allison Smith brought her 2nd grade class from Gamble Elementary. They put us all in the Christmas Spirit! Marge Wilson decorated our foyer in a festive holiday fashion. She is the lady who graciously changes our decorations for each season and holiday. We Appreciate You Sharing Your Talents With Us!

Santa stopped by the BCSAWC for our annual Christmas party! He also made some home trips to our Meals on Wheels Members to share the Holiday spirit! Thank you Santa for stopping by and spreading the Holiday Cheer!

Berry consumption may stall memory decline. High intake of flavonoid—rich blueberries and strawberries by older women appears ti delay cognitive aging by up to 2.5 years compared to those consuming less. Data focused on more than 16,000 women over age 70 whose memory and cognitive function was tested every two years for a six year period. Two or more weekly servings of blueberries and strawberries reduced memory decline. Rust Proof a cast—iron skillet Guarantee your trusty skillet stays rust-free by wiping it with a damp, used black tea bag after every cooking session. The tea’s tannins will coat the pan with an invisible protective layer that prevents rust causing oxidation.
