The Chelsea Christmas Lights Switch on returns again this year, with magical displays across Sloane Square and Sloane Street, Duke of York Square, Pavilion Road – and for the first time, new lights on the King’s Road celebrating its regal heritage. From 2pm onwards enjoy an unmissable array of entertainment across the neighbourhood, including carol singers and performers – perfect for the entire family. At 5pm, Father Christmas and his ‘special helper’, will turn on the Christmas Lights from the stage on Sloane Square, lighting up the area and marking the start of the Christmas season!
Chelsea's Christmas Gro 2019 is set to be the most magical Christmas yet, as Londonâ€™s most interactive Grotto arrives in Chelsea, opening on the picturesque Pavilion Road this November! The Chelsea Christmas Grotto will offer an hour-long winter wonderland experience like no other, in collaboration with famed childrenâ€™s entertainers, Sharky & George, where your little one will be transported to the North Pole to meet Father Christmas and his elves.
Children will enjoy 30 minutes of classic Sharky & George games before entering Father Christmas’ workshop. Father Christmas will be decked in luxurious red velvet and settled in front of the fire to read a festive story before each child’s one-on-one. The little ones will be dazzled with his knowledge of their naughty and nice antics over the year before giving them a traditional gift from under the tree. Festive crafts will then be on offer, giving children the opportunity to try their hand at gingerbread biscuit or bauble decorating. Opening as Chelsea lights up for Christmas on 23 November, this truly magical experience will run until 23 December – spaces are likely to fill up fast, so book your spot early to avoid disappointment. Unlike traditional Christmas grottos, this event will be packed full of mischief and mayhem and is also available for exclusive hire sessions, so grab a group of friends and get in touch to book. For the under-twos, the grotto will also offer a ‘My First Grotto’ session, and exclusive preschool sessions for those four and under. With each ticket sale comes the optional donation of £1 which will go towards the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, an independent charity dedicated to bringing together people across the Borough to overcome hardship and exclusion.
