While this July you may feast your eyes on bright fireworks displays and mouthwatering barbecue at the lake outside, we aim to bring all that goodness inside too We will begin celebrating American independence with A Capitol Fourth airing at 7 p m Tuesday, July 4th Enjoy some ever-talented home cooks’ dishes and the rich, delectable stories connecting them in a new season of The Great American Recipe Mondays at 8 p.m.
There’s nothing quite like sharing stories around a summer campfire, and this month we share some exceptional storytelling Check out Human Footprint: Man’s Best Friend Wednesday, July 19 at 8 p m for a fun and heartwarming trek through the historical pawprint of our favorite pets. And beginning Tuesday, July 18 at 8 p.m., join us for a 3part series on Southern Storytellers, which covers authentic creatives of the South from books, poetry, to theatre limelight. Following at 9p.m., explore the significance of our national symbols and the aspirations of what it means to be American in Iconic America: Our Symbols and Stories with David Rubenstein Finally, Ken Burns’ much acclaimed Country Music docuseries continues this month Fridays at 9 p.m.
And from our friends across the pond, join us for summer sleuthing Sundays beginning with the all-new smart and quirky Sister Boniface July 9 at 6 p m , followed by the season premiere of Grantchester at 8 p m and newcomer D I Ray at 9 p m The long awaited season 9 premiere of Doc Martin will begin airing Thursday, July 6 at 9 p m , so be on the lookout.
