Ang Unang Daan Tungo sa Masagana’t Mapayapang ARMM (The First 100 Days Report)

This year’s celebration of the Women’s Month carried the theme “Women Weathering Climate Change: Governance and Accountability, Everyone’s responsibility”, in recognition of the role of women as powerful agents of change in relation to disaster risk reduction. The specific objectives of the celebration are: 1) Raise awareness on gender-responsive disaster risk reduction (DRR) and management and gender and climate change issues; 2) Generate commitment of Local Government Units (LGUs) for the preparation and implementation of their gender-responsive DRR and climate change adaptation plans; and 3) Encourage women’s participation in government programs geared towards disaster preparedness and building resilient communities using government’s budget. To meet the above objectives, the RCBW, in cooperation with other regional line agencies, scheduled activities, among others, namely: 1) Symposium on Disaster Risk Reduction in relation to global warming and climate change, and 2) Forum on the Role of Women in peace building, good governance, and sustainable development. (CDO/BYA-ARMM) has established and maintained conduits with government organizations, local, and national to keep the youth abreast with the development, projects, programs and issues. It facilitated the conduct of an Orientation Program on the Local Scholarship Program of Australian Aid for International Development (AusAid). The Office also conducted the First Bangsamoro Youth Leaders’ Summit with the theme: “Transforming Potentials: Leading the Future” held on March 15- 16, 2012 at the RELC, ORG Compound, Cotabato City attended by youth leaders from the different provinces of the region.
