the column Just when we thought the season ended—it was time to head back to Fire Island, and that’s just what Caesar Monroy and I set out to do. We headed to the American Theatre of Actors to see Little House on the Ferry written and produced by Rob Gould. He, along with Robert Arbelo, wrote the music, lyrics and composition for the show. It was a fun script with campy songs. The show had many moments of compromise and greed that many in gay life demand of their lovers and friends. It showed the heartache of lost loves, the pain of always giving in, and the sadness of how lonely gay life can be. In the show, gay life is seen as parting, hooking up, and men running away from commitment. It left me to believe that gay men give of themselves just to have that moment of pleasure, and fool themselves to believe in love when it’s just a hook up. The show starred Colton Ford, Seph Stanek, Sean Loftus, Matt Rodriguez, Kit Balcuns, and Chris Van Kirk. In the ensemble: J. Harrison Ghee, Vinny Celeiro, Matthew Griffin, Joey Johnson, Sean Scott, Salvatore Infantino and Sai Somboon. Great job, boys! Love the many moments of nipples and sexy bodies. Three walk-ons: Paige Turner, Will Clark and DJ Randy Bettis - nice surprise! My suggestion: this would be a great movie; and you know gays would flock to it just like they did with Another Gay Movie released by TLA. I’m just saying, that’s all. Special Thank You to Publicist Derek Graves of DSG Entertainment. I enjoyed the show, the wine, and the desserts simply delicious! Ok, so we scooted off to Blow Off at the Highline Ballroom to check out some of the hurliest and burliest of men. Well, let me tell you my thoughts as I was walking in: “Am I going to need my trimmer?” Hmm, that so wasn’t the case. Yes, I was shocked; and hey, I met a bear to call my own. He was so beautiful and a body to die for, and yes, he did take his shirt off; and yes, his chest had fur and he was put together with everything in all the right places. We did dance to the music of Richard Morel for a few songs and then had a few cocktails with some conversation as lip locking was happening all around...well not us - it was like Connie Francis and Pat Boon were on a date. Oy fucking vey! But hey, he had respect. What can I say? Mazel Tov to me! The night was hosted by Bob Mould who served it up lovely. Great job, Bob; and I want to say Thank You to Andy Reynolds of Popular Publicity. Thank You for a great evening! Check out: www.blowoff.us

It was a night not to be missed as RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga performed her dance single On Display at the F Word @ Splash Bar the other night for the gays of NY. When Melissa’s husband, Joe Gorga, was carried on stage by their gay friend, Gregory Joseph, the room went wild. The new club dance princess worked the room, and everyone sang along, took photos and videorecorded her as she turned them out with her sexiness. I have to say promoters, Mark Nelson and Michael Formika Jones, along with Len Evans of Project Publicity really served NYC a nice big heap of some Hot Italian madness, and everyone loved every minute of it. Splash Bar was filled with Italian’s, Gay and Straight, and those that love them or wanted one to call their own... ok maybe just one for the night. It was definitely a wild and crazy time. If that wasn’t enough, Melissa was joined by Kathy and Richie Wakile and the crowd screamed as they whipped out their cameras and cell phones and snapped way so they could post a picture on Facebook. Thank you for another great night; and Melissa, if anyone is waiting for you to fall they are going to wait a long time, baby, because you were well received and the audience loved you! Congratulations to you, and hey, next time just come on stage singing and let Joe come on shirtless in GoGo shorts -- just a thought! Off to Barracuda Lounge to see Sherry Vine and her special guest, Lady Bunny. It was a fun night seeing the dazzling Legendary Divas rip open the room. As Sherry took to the stage and went in and out of each number, the room ate up every moment of it. She was joined by Lady Bunny who, by the way, is doing her one woman show “That Ain’t No Lady” at Escuelita in November and December on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, and it’s not to be missed! At the end of the show, Sherry Vine premiered her new video parody of Rihanna’s, “We Found Love” directed by . Sherry whipped out a cupcake with a candle for birthday girl, Tracy Von Becker who, by the way, just got engaged to Francis Legge a few nights before on top of the Empire State Building! Best of Luck to both of you! DJ David Serrano spun his magic as JR and Brian served some banging cocktails with Sexy Servers Aaron and Marcus, working the room, slinging drinks as Vine and Bunny brought the room to their feet! Way to go, ladies! Bravo! Frankie C.

“... the next day was lovely and there was no sign of the previous night. There are some mornings I wake up wishing there was no sign of the previous night.” After the snow storm the other night, I finally had to accept that summer is over and I should be thankful for the 3 days of fall we had. Crazy weather—but the next day was lovely and there was no sign of the previous night. There are some mornings I wake up wishing there was no sign of the previous night. lol. I recently returned to Bill’s Filling Station in Ft. Lauderdale to perform for their 16th Anniversary! So much fun, as always!! They know how to treat a “lady” - limo service, two-bedroom deluxe suite, Jack Daniels in the dressing room, and paid before the show! Love you guys - thanks again, and here’s to another 16 years! I also returned to The Monster on a Wednesday night to perform with my bubble, the legendary Jesse Volt!!! OMG! I love Jesse more than anything. Jesse will come out and give you old school house diva in a sequined gown; then come back out with complete head to toe costume change, and knock your socks off as Siouxsie Sioux!! WORSHIP! Her other guest was recent Florida transplant, the alluring Roxy Brooks! Roxy is new to drag and very new to NYC, but you would never know it watching her because her act is polished and her face is beat for the goddess!! And super sweet. I highly recommend checking out this show. It’s every Wednesday at The Monster.   The next day, I was off to Chicago to perform at North Illinois University, about an hour from O’Hare Airport. I was a bit nervous performing at a college event because some of my parodies are slightly off color! lol. But you know the kids - they love the filth! And luckily, they all live on YouTube, so had seen all my videos. And they still invited me! lol. I

have done several college events, usually for Gay/Straight Alliance Groups which are very important to me, but this was the biggest by far. About 600 people showed up, and it was a real PARTY! Albeit, a dry party, but a great party nonetheless. Happy Diversity Week to NIU! My dear friend, Christian Mitchell, who works for MAC, had the premiere exhibition of his art called Mental Circus last week. The weather was still nice, so I strolled to the Bowery with Joey Arias where we met up with family, Ricky Salazar, Stella Amar, Dov, and Mathias. Christian’s work is inspiring, and everyone was blown away. We had dinner down the street, and I walked home full of gratitude for the amazing friends in my life!   Speaking of sperm - check out the newest video parody from The Halfway Haus of Vine, Francis Legge and Wigbar.com!! It’s a parody of Rihanna’s “We Found Love” called “We Found Sperm” - nothing but class here folks! Also, remember, “That Ain’t No Lady” starring Lady Bunny has been extended and is now playing every Tues thru Nov at Esquelita. Diva Mondays at Industry Bar DIVA Mondays is the weekly show that features some of New York’s finest female vocalists paying tribute to over-the-top gay icons like Whitney, Mariah, Aretha, and even Adele. The cast is diverse, but all of them are beautiful and talented, bringing a finely tuned, polished and glamorous concertstyle show to midtown nightlife.  Audiences are praising it and not only for what the ladies sing each week but for what they wear. The girls—many of whom also currently star in Broadway shows like The Addams Family and Wicked— perform group numbers and solo features in gowns and jewels.  Marty Thomas hosts Divas Monday at Industry Bar. Curtain rises promptly at 11pm.

Why did you choose to bring Diva Mondays to Industry? We needed a progressive space with a truly theatrical setting. Industry has a beautiful stage, awesome sound system and it’s designed so that whole room can view the show. Being midtown, it’s also perfectly located for our after theater crowd. In recent weeks, we’ve spotted cast members from CHICAGO, WICKED, and PRISCILLA:QUEEN OF THE DESERT in the audience! On any given night, we host Broadway and Hollywood celebs. In the past few weeks we’ve hosted James Marsden, Adam Lambert, lance Bass and the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Last month’s BE A DIVA contest was a huge hit. We sifted through almost eight hundred applicants to choose our top eight contestants! We wanted to choose a diverse lineup of girls, both in genre and experience. My cast of girls has to be excellent entertainers and musicians. They cover every imaginable style of music from rock to pop to country to jazz to show tunes. It’s a unique performer that can seamlessly transition between all of these styles. Was winner Jennifer McGill the instant standout?
Every week there was a different favorite. All eight ladies developed an amazing fan base. It was so fun to read

NY-11-09-11.indd 16

all the emails and tweets each week. We eliminated a girl each week, and it seemed like every week a huge portion of our audience was devastated. The gays can be pretty dramatic. It was also thrilling to see who the new guest celebrity judge would be each week.
We brought in so many celebs to judge the contests. Billy Porter (ANGELS IN AMERICA), Rachelle Rak (CATCH ME IF YOU CAN), Jason Howland (composer LITTLE WOMEN), Orfeh (LEGALLY BLONDE), Daisy Eagan (THE SECRET GARDEN), Constantine Maroulis (ROCK OF AGES), and Nick Adams (PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT).  What does the Diva title mean for your Miss McGill?
She has become a member of our weekly cast of divas, so all of her new fans can see her every Monday night at 11, for FREE. What’s next for Diva Mondays?
We have so many exciting holiday shows planned. It’s a brand new show every single week, so there are always lots of surprises! You can expect tributes to everyone from Britney to Bassey and every diva in between. You have to come every Monday to see what’s in store!
