interview ibiza 2018

What is the party in Ibiza 2018? The piece of news that you most disliked hearing about this season? The ban on outside music in the municipality of Sant Josep, something that is incongruent on an island that lives from music and, on top of that, is applied during a bad season. Without a doubt, it is going to have a negative impact on the tourism that visits us each year. The politicians that we have at the moment are doing a lot of damage.

The future of music in Ibiza lies in…? I think that the moment to reinvent itself has arrived; the musical identity for which Ibiza was famous all over the world has been lost and we are jumping onto the bandwagon of offering what everyone else offers. I think that the main problem comes down to the people in charge of programming owing to the pressure on them to make profits; they do not take risks but rather look at what is working well elsewhere in terms of the mainstream and go after that. Fortunately, for the musical health of the island, many of these decisions are blowing up in their faces. I don’t believe they have understood how this island has worked, musically speaking. Either we go back to being original or this is going to end up in the (…) A place to lose oneself in Ibiza? The zone of Cala d’hort continues to inspire me The track of the summer? There are many tracks but right now my favourite is: Eagles & Butterflies – The Last Dance (Mano Le Tough Remix). Nothing less than a revelation…
