Oconto Winterfest and Northwoods Chili Cook-Off All events take place at the Oconto Legion Golf Course in Oconto. Be sure to enter your winner recipe for this fun-filled day. Come and enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin Winter, both inside and outside! Events included fun activities such as chair ski races, bicycle race, the great ham put, turkey bowling, willburger throw, bucket golf, dog sweater contest, snow rides on the course and the beanbag toss. Prizes will be awarded to winners of each activity. Inside the club house, the annual Northwoods Chili Cook-Off will take place. Bring your favorite chili on the day of the event and enter for a chance to win a cash prize of $100, $50, or $25. All you can eat chili will be sold for $6 per bowl. The Machickanee Players NE Wisconsin’s oldest dinner theater group, will be presenting the comedy “Insane With Power”, written by Scott Haan, and directed by Tammie McCarthy and Margaret Dakins. Laughs abound when Lois Lancaster, a big-city journalist writing about the current state of mental health facilities, bases her research in a hospital populated with a unique group of quirky inmates who imagine they are crime-fighting superheroes—namely Speed Freak, Dim Bulb, and Kevin. At first Lois finds their superhero fantasies to be an entertaining diversion, until something unusual happens that makes her wonder . . . Annual Red Arrow Fish a Ree 11AM to early evening. Fish Contest, Big ticket raffle, food, beverages, meat raffle and music. Family friendly event. Fishing contest-any fish caught within 20 mile radius of Townsend and caught the day of the event. Event is held at the Townsend Town Hall.

February 17 Wheeler Lake

Wheeler Lake Ice Fisheree Join us on Wheeler Lake for the annual Fisheree! Starting at 8:00am till 6:00pm at the Big Bay next to the boat landing on Wheeler Lake. Fishing registration starts at 8:00am and activities start at 10:00am with live music by Chad Demuse and Paul Hanna from 11:00am to 6:00pm. $10 entry fee for fishing. Winning categories include: $100 longest northern, $100 longest combined 5 northern, 6 random $100 prizes cash raffle. Tickets can be bought day of event or at local area restaurants. Food and refreshments will be served. Fun for all ages, lots of raffles and located on the snowmobile trail.

February 24 Gillett

Finnegan Lake Walleye Club Ice Fishing Derby Join us in the annual ice fishing derby at the Oconto County Fair Grounds, Zippel Park in Gillett. The derby will start at 8am-4pm, registration ends at 3pm. You can fish the surrounding in-lake lakes as well as the Finnegan! Many impulse and bucket raffles throughout the afternoon.

February 25 Riverview

Annual Turkey Bowling At the Riverview Town Hall/Fire Department starting at 12:00pm. Get your 4 person teams registered, any age can bowl.
