Join us for Rabbi Greenspan’s new Lifelong Jewish Learning Series, “How We Care: The Meaning and Practice of Hesed in Our Daily Lives,” following Minyan, Wednesdays, January 29th , February 5th and 12th. Judaism places great importance on the practice of Hesed, lovingkindness in our daily lives by offering us practical advice about how to show kindness to others in moments of rejoicing and sorrow. We will look at the law and lore of Hesed in several areas of daily life; illness, bereavement, burial, marriage, and birth.
Join the Challenge: UNPLUG POWER DOWN and RECONNECT Do you have multiple cell phones? Do you take your iPad to the beach or on vacation? Ever find it hard to get through a family dinner or a conversation without posting an update on Facebook? Is your computer always on? Do you miss out on the important moments in life because you’re buried in your iPhone or BlackBerry? If you recognize yourself – or friends, families or colleagues - then you need to join us for a National Day of Unplugging. Friday and Saturday March 7-8, is the National Day of Unplugging. We will mark these 25 hours with a weekend of programming: Friday night, a Shabbat Dinner, inspiring Shabbat services, and fun Shabbat afternoon activities. We would like to invite you to host or be hosted for a light Shabbat lunch following services. We are asking members of our community to make the pledge to unplug and join this exciting day of renewal. You can sign on by visiting http:// nationaldayofunplugging.com/.
