Sunglasses at Night! The days are longer and we are still on the beach at 8PM! Blazing sunshine and gentle breezes make us grateful for this spring season here at the Reef. It’s all about the kids! And they are so excited to be driving the golf cart. Lots of frivolity and beach volleyball. So many activities to keep up with. There is so much going on every minute. A dozen waterfront homes have flown off the shelf. Most of them will be rebuilt or heavily renovated. This is the best indication of a revived market. Dare we say the drought is over? New members are taking advantage of the ‘join for half’ and it is sparking desire to spend more time with their feet in the sand. Or in golf or tennis shoes. Sales are brisk and signs of consumer confidence are re-emerging. In the first quarter of 2011, we have surpassed the entire abysmal year of 2009. At this rate, surely we will double it. The smaller properties, docks and lots are still lagging a bit. That could be because their values

have fallen below that of the equity membership. High end condominiums, especially those with boat access, are having success. Marina Village, Pumpkin Cay and Harbor House have all enjoyed sales that will keep values up. Unlike homes, what helps a multi-million condo to sell is the condition and dĂŠcor. The current condo buyers have bought turnkey. We still encourage trading of our luxury second homes, as one of the two properties is likely to fall into the slower category. The floating dock project of our Marina has been postponed until the summer of 2012. We are on the upswing with the activity of the last 6 weeks and we have 6 weeks to go. Now may be the time to make your move. Equity ownership is the wave of the future. To own a slice of paradise and have the variety of amenities at your fingertips is the kind of quality of life Ocean Reef is recognized for.
