Ocean Lava is triathlon race brand founded on Canary Islands in 2014 by Kenneth Gasque, living legend of the triathlon world. In just 2 years Ocean Lava expanded to 7 countries with 12 races and thousands of attending athletes Ocean Lava is more than an race - it is a movement, where we feel alive with the elements of nature in the sea, the wind, the sun, in the open air. In reality we all race under the same sun, against each other don’t matter age, sex, color, religion in what we call the biggest Cathedral of all in and under the big blue sky.

It is freedom to let the body be used and bring happiness to our life. Ocean Lava is made up of real people, who are passionate about the triathlon as you are.

Ocean Lava is born and based on Lanzarote island, a unique volcanic island in the Atlantic ocean with the beaches where the volcanic mountains show its own color.

OCEAN LAVA - PROMO VIDEO - SHORT

Kotor is a coastal town in Montenegro. It is located in a secluded part of the Gulf of Kotor. The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period.

It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Together with the nearly overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovcen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive and picturesque Mediterranean landscape.

ABOUT KOTOR

Kotor has been recognized as an excellent location for organizing triathlon events and uniqueness of this race is that the whole event is held in the area of UNESCO World Heritage.

SWIM

The two lap swim course takes place at the Bay of Kotor, 100m from the old town.

Direction of swim is counterclockwise.

No currents, calm and warm sea guarantee pleasant experience.

Cut off time is 1:10h after start.

BIKE

This is one of the most impressive bike courses in the world! While you ride your bike between sea and mountains, you will find out why English poet Lord Byron wrote: “At the moment of the creation of our planet, the most beautiful merging of land and sea occurred at the Montenegrin seaside. When the pearls of nature were sworn, an abundance of them were strewn all over this area.� Amazing landscape through UNESCO world heritage site will make this route unique experience that will be hard to forget. Bike circuit will not be closed to traffic and circulation will be controlled by the police. Please be careful at all times. Cut off time is 6:00h after race start.

RUN

The two lap course is flat and fast. The highest point of the course is only 5m above sea level. The course is located in Dobrota. Among many cultural monuments you will run by, there are remains from the Illyrian and Roman periods, the church of St. Ilija, erected in the 12th century, the church of St. Matej from 17th century and the church of St. Eustahije from 18th century. Everyone will enjoy running on this course because the bay, the city of Kotor and the surrounding territory is UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience impressive support of the spectators alongside the run.

Cut off time is 9:00h after race start.
