Strange Brew. SIXTEEN-year-old Catherine Sanzaro (left) delivered another powerful performance at the festival. She was a member of the Sweethearts, while at Mathew Flinders, but has since moved to Bellarine High School. She is now composing her own music and lyrics, of which some are Stand and Fight, My Revolution, Wishing and Enough Already. She has a voice which can be quiet and soulful, while also hammering out those strong gutsy songs. Her set was interrupted by a blackout, yet she managed to carry on without the mike, strumming her guitar in the blackness. Isn’t it amazing to see how times have changed when the audience was giving her light by holding up their mobile phones . . I remember the days of lighters! At the very end Catherine sang Eva Cassidy’s “Songbirds”. What a pure voice this young lady has.
