OHIER ARCHITECT

ÂŤ The city is man's most consistent and on the whole, his most successful attempt to remake the world he lives in more after his heart's desire. But, if the city is the world which man created, it is the world in which he is henceforth condemned to live. Thus, indirectly, and without any clear sense of the nature of his task, in making the city man has remade himself Âť Robert Park, , On Social Control and Collective Behavior

Reinvent HUMANITARIAN CAMP

From yesteryear holidays to nowadays urgency : restoration and conversion in Pozzallo, Sicilia, Italy Postgraduate project - 2016 Pozzallo is one of the first entry port for refugees, who risk their lives to cross the Mediterranean. Among them, many minors arrive without their parents, mostly teenagers with no one to take care of them. Today the city is unable to provide those young people with worthy life conditions, which would meet their needs. In order to respond to the hosting emergency, I suggested to consider an old fascist holiday camp, the former colonia marina Luigi Sturzo . The purpose of this project is to tackle a pressing issue by converting a symbolic building of the Italian’s fascist history into an open and generous safe space. Through ensuring their protection and comfort, the aim is to provide them with a warm and reassuring architecture, between intimacy and friendliness that would give them a sense of freedom. The revival of this building is part of a humanitarian project that focuses on an architectural, urban and social dialogue.

Reinvent TOP-DOWN extended, vegetated, transformed Urban Mutation competition with Marie-Gabrielle Leroy - 2015 How to transform the city on itself in an old urban fabric? The buildings composing the three plots of this site date back from the 18th and the 20th century and form a dense and very compact ensemble. The project is focused on rebuilding and joining two plots to create new openings, with new corridors and pathways, and provide all owners with new spaces. This site also has potential for a redesign and raising of existing buildings, integrating contemporary architecture. These transformations allow us to increase the housing surface by building new homes or transforming the current ones. It’s also an opportunity to reinvent parisian courtyards, by suggesting a collective garden and a new living space with a launderette and a library-coffee.

Regeneration Isolotto’s district development University of Florence - 2014

Isolotto’s district is a residential area located in the south-west of Florence. In the early XIXth century, this area tremendously developed itself thanks to the creation of industries – that are now closed – and many workers housing. The last vestige of this era is the old factory. Totally abandoned, ruins remain in the middle of the plot located along a main road and connected by tram and bus. For the district, this industrial wasteland is an opportunity to revitalize the area, mixing public housing, and community facilities. The challenge of this project was to create a new coherent urban space integrated with the existing urban fabric. To achieve this, one of the main project’s focus was to build around the factory’s existing walls, which embodies the identity of this area.

Regeneration GERTY-ARCHIMED COMPETITION Office and gymnasium project in Bercy district Fabrice Dusapin architect - 2013 This project presents a special interest in the Paris district of Bercy as its urbanity is both finished and still in progress at the same time. The field’s shape and the railway closing the site on the north border led us to design a dense building with transparencies. The aim is to create a new perspective in order to transform this dead end into an area connected to the new district of «Charenton Bercy» currently being built on the side. This project offers visual and usual continuities. for future developments. One other challenge was also to manage the imbrication between a public facility and an office building.
