Introduction

Balbirnie House is a delightful Georgian mansion house dating back to 1777, recognised as one of Scotland’s finest grade A listed houses. Caringly restored and privately owned, Balbirnie is today a quite unique award-winning country house hotel, combining understated luxury with superb service and outstanding value. Over the years, Balbirnie has amassed an incredible collection of industry awards. Balbirnie is situated in the heart of the ancient Kingdom of Fife, approximately a half hour drive between Edinburgh and St Andrews. The house sits as the centerpiece of a 400 acre estate and country park, landscaped in the style of Capability Brown, with a collection of trees and rhododendrons unrivalled in the East of Scotland. Views from the house extend over garden lawns and flowering borders to Balbirnie Park 18 hole parkland golf course which surrounds the hotel. The key to Balbirnie’s ongoing success is the emphasis of the hundred or so individuals who make up the hotel brigade on providing a genuinely personal service and friendly hospitality to our house guests. Balbirnie provides superb facilities for dining, leisure breaks and special events of all types. A real home away from home. Whatever the occasion of your visit, we hope you enjoy your stay with us.
