Missions “to the nations”
Visits of our Co-Founder
The Brothers and Sisters of Assuncao, Paraguay, went out to the city of Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay, three hours from the Paraguyan Capital, for the occasion of a Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary, where they met many young people, among them were the youth of the Franciscan Movement (JUFRA). “Together with the church” On the last weekend of the month our religious who reside in the Diocese of Sao Miguel Paulista were united for a morning of spirituality at the School of the Lassalistas Sister promoted by the Nucleus of the CRB. There were prayerful moments of sharing the Word and vocation. On the same day,
representatives of our Fraternity were present at the “Encounter of Movements and New Communities” promoted by the Archdiocese of Sao Paulo, and held at the school of the Sister of Notre Dame of Sumare’. Bishop Claudio Hummes led the encounter speaking about the Year of Faith.

Our Co-Founder, Sister Servant, made an official visit to some of our missions during this month. She visited the States of Minas Gerais, Amazonas, Para, Ceara, Maranhao, and Parana. Her presence was an occasion for moments of sharing, prayers and formation. In Sao Luiz, she received the postulancy of two young religious.
“Come and see” in Bolivia On the 6th of October there was a “Come and See” encounter held at our mission in El Alto, Bolivia. Through theatre, praise, testimonies, talks, sharing and prayer, around thirty young people who . participated in the encounter reflected about their vocations. At the end of the encounter, fifteen young people asked to be accompanied as religious vocations.

Anniversary of the Fraternity
The mission house Saint Isabel of Hungary, together with lay-persons, benefactors, friends, family “Rescue-Me”, and the Community, Virgin of the Poor, held a “Day of Happy Children”, in the slum of Sururu de Capote. Lunches and toys were distributed on the day that the whole Church celebrated the Mother of God under the title of “Our Lady of “Our Lady Appeared”
The Fraternity completed 11 years since being founded, and in all of our missions this date was commemorated in the first place around the altar of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, followed by fellowship. In some places there were special events for the poor, shows, dinner, etc. The Church was with us in the persons of Archbishops, Bishops, and Priests who presided at the Holy Mass. Our Founder celebrated in Belem, on the 21st of the month, where he conceded the first bonds of belonging to our Holy Charism to seven new members of the Community of Lay-Associates, and many more renewed their promises. On the 28th, In Teixeira de Freitas, Bahia, he celebrated with the local community, where some sisters entered into the Day of the Happy Children aspirancy, and others into the postulancy, Retreat of religious in formation and promises of lay-associates. In the regions Our Lady of Carmel, and Our Lady of Graces, there was held during the month of October a retreat of spirituality for our brothers and sisters who are in formation. In Governador Valadares, the encounter was held on the 14th to the 18th, and had as its theme, “returning to me”. In Maceio the Bolívia encounter was held on the 16th to the 19th in Barra de Santo Antonio.
Rescue-me During this month around 420 young people participated in Rescue-Me encounters held in Maceio, Alagoas; Mariana, Minas Gerais; and Foz do Iguacu, Parana. Each participant had the opportunity to get closer to God.

Fest of St. Francis On the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, one of our patrons, our whole religious community united to celebrate. On the occasion, the chapel of the mission house Santa Clara in Belem, was re-inaugurated during Holy Mass presided by Fr. Goncalo, and in other missions the aspirancy and postulancy was conceded to some of our brothers and sisters in formation. Holy Mass was celebrated in Aracajo by Bishop Henrique Soares, in Maceio by Fr. Nilton, and our Founder celebrated in Parelheiros, Sao Paulo, where some of our “sons” finished their addiction treatment, and others had their first communion.

Missionary Week The mission house Dom Luciano, with the help of brothers and sisters from other missions, held two missionary weeks in the State of Minas Gerais. At the invitation of Fr. Jean, of the parish St. Rita of Cassia, the event was held in Sericita. In Aguas Claras, t he missionaries participated in a novena in honor of “Our Lady Appeared” (Nossa Senhora Aparecida) visiting with families and inviting all to participate in the events in honor of the Mother of God.
