The river information describes all rivers in New Zealand which are likely to be jet boatable. It is necessary to have gained an
uplifting of regulations or by-laws to allow jet boats to proceed at speeds greater than 5 knots (9.265 km/h). Where this applies
Gazette detail is noted and the affected area described. At the base of each page the relevant parts of the Water Recreation
Regulations are printed out. It is necessary for members to aquaint themselves with the law and understand that ‘no uplifting’
means that no jet boating is allowed on the described river at a proper speed (speed through the water) greater than 5 knots.
Where the description "no uplifting" is displayed, branches have not yet acted successfully to achieve legal boating. Jet
boating in such waters is therefore discouraged by the Jet Boating New Zealand.
