Reunion Plans Are Underway Never has the phrase, “Time flies,” carried more meaning than when you are considering your 20th High School Reunion. But alas, 20 years have passed and it’s high time we all get together and catch-up over a weekend. Here are some details for our Reunion Weekend.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 Check into the hotel at your leisure anytime then it’s back-to-school night at NWSA. Everyone is invited to a TGIF party in the evening on the 4th floor patio, followed by a special performance of “West Side Story” by the current students at NWSA.

Reunion Location Is Set! It’s official – the reunion will take place at the gorgeous Miami Beach Resort & Spa (formerly the Doral). Although we flirted with other locations, the breathtaking ocean views from the MBR&S’s 15th floor ballroom easily won us over,

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 Stop by the Reunion Lounge play some Rock Band together, sing some karaoke, or just reminisce and catch up. In the evening, summon your inner rock star and party all night at the Reunion Gala, in the hotel ballroom. Dinner, entertainment, embarrassing photos of old and maybe a few videos are all planned for the evening.

If you’re in a position to make a financial donation, large or small, please let us know. We’d be happy to chat with you about providing you some type of advertising or promotional opportunities in exchange for your support. It goes without saying that these are incredibly challenging times. We know that you all want to be wise and cautious in your expenditures right now. So, the challenge we’re faced with here at Reunion HQ is this: how do we put together the type of amazing reunion we all deserve and desire, while still making it affordable enough for everyone to attend? Rest assured that we’re doing our best to rise to that challenge. We’re working hard to keep the Reunion ticket prices as low as humanly possible, while still delivering a spectacular and unforgettable event.  But our own efforts can only go so far, and we need your support. Today, we’re elated to announce that one of our fellow alums, RANDALL EMMETT (’89), has pledged a very generous donation towards the Reunion.  This tremendous gift will allow us to reduce ticket prices for everyone.  Randall produced the recent feature film “Righteous Kill” (starring Pacino and De Niro), and is currently producing “Bad Lieutenant” (starring Nic Cage and Eva Mendes).  In addition to his company Emmett/Furla Films, Randall has just launched a new film production company with recording artist Fifty Cent (which was announced at this year’s Sundance

IT’S HARD BUT CASTING COUCH STAFF MEMBERS GET IT UP We at the Casting Couch are extremely proud to have gotten the words “hard”, “staff”, “member” and “get it up” all into the same headline. We’re also proud to announce that we’ll be getting all of the old Couch issues up online,

If you’re able to donate (or provide discounts on) goods or services you think might be relevant, that would help. If you have parents, siblings, or other friends or family members you think might want to volunteer to staff the event, let us know. All of these things help lower our bottom line, reduce costs, and thereby reduce ticket prices. If you’d be interested in sharing a hotel room, or live in S. Fla. and would be willing to host a visiting alum during the Reunion weekend, please reach out to your friends and make the offer. Or, just let us know and we’ll try to hook it up for you. We hate having to ask for your assistance. It feels kinda lame and cheezy. In a perfect world, as we did in ’99, we’d just throw the event and have you all show up and party. But, at this point, it ain’t a perfect world, and the bottom line is that we should all do what we can to help ensure that everyone who wants to attend will be able to attend.

to be available for your reading pleasure at First up, we’ll be posting the incredible 10 Year Reunion issue, published in 1999, arguably the biggest and funniest Couch issue ever (excluding only those issues which may have been larger and/or funnier). From there, we’ll be posting the rest of the library, little-by-little, as we approach the big event in October. It’s an extremely difficult

and time-consuming process, as each issue must been painstakingly restored by expert archivists, and digitized to capture even the most minute details of the original texts. We’re proud to present the original Couch issues in this pristine format, making it available to present and future Pigeons across the globe. Keep checking the site for news and updates!
