Last year, alternative fuels generated 59% of campus-wide utility needs. On-campus recycling includes aluminum, plastic, paper and glass containers. Recycled glass is turned into sand that is used around campus. Recycled paper is processed into pellets for fueling campus. Northwest is the Missouri Arboretum and home to more than 1,700 trees.
