£40,000 - £50,000 p.a., depending upon experience Initially offered part-time, 3 days per week pro-rata

Job Purpose: To provide effective support to the Chief Executive and Executive team in developing, managing and delivering a marketing and communications strategy. Main Accountabilities: • • •

To prepare, monitor and review an annual marketing and communications strategy in line with the adopted Corporate and Business Plans; To manage the implementation of the strategy through co-ordination and liaison with the Executive team; To develop and maintain effective media relations locally, sub-regionally, regionally and nationally and produce media briefings, releases and events to promote awareness of the core business, key priorities, progress and achievements of the company including production of a summary Business Plan and Annual Report and to ensure that media enquiries are co-ordinated effectively; To develop, implement and promote the brand of Preston Vision Limited (PVL) through all communications and marketing activity including website development and management; To advise on the use of public relation suppliers ensuring that such use adds value and that the procurement of suppliers is managed effectively and efficiently to achieve agreed objectives and value for money; To manage an external stakeholder programme including the co-ordination of stakeholder briefings and other communication events; To contribute to the development of the Corporate and Business Plans and coordinate appropriate consultation forums to ensure that feedback is received on company priorities and performance; To ensure that promotional and consultation arrangements in support of projects are delivered to a high standard; To be responsible for overall customer service standards ensuring that a high standard is consistently achieved; To advise the Chief Executive and Executive team of all aspects of communications and marketing and to contribute fully to the work of the Executive team;

The postholder is expected to develop, manage and implement a programme of activities which enhances and protects the reputation of PVL, securing best value in resourcing the programme and providing regular monitoring and evaluation of the programme; The postholder is expected to communicate, negotiate, network and influence effectively with a wide range of audiences, both internal and external, establishing positive relationships that generate confidence and trust; The postholder will be responsible for managing the marketing and communications budget, ensuring compliance with all financial reporting, monitoring and procurement procedures.

Person Specification Knowledge, Skills & Experience: • • • • • • • • • •

A senior communications or marketing role within the public and/or private sectors, ideally within the regeneration industry; Managing and implementing marketing and communication plans, managing external suppliers and managing and reporting on budgets; Managing media relations and preparation of materials and news releases for national, trade and regional media; Thorough understanding of all aspects of effective communications within the public and private sectors; Knowledge of the policy framework for regeneration including government policies and PVL’s core business; Knowledge of key economic, physical and social drivers in Preston and environs and of its key stakeholder groups including those within the media, national and local government and local communities; Financial management skills. A Degree or equivalent qualification; Membership of the IPR/CIM or equivalent; Evidence of Continued Professional Development
