Instructions

Cutting 1. From green print, cut one strip 4 1/2" x 13 1/2" (22 1/2"), one square 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and three (five) strips 4 1/2" x 12 1/2". 2. From cream print, cut two squares 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and three (five) squares 6 7/8" x 6 7/8". 3. From red print, cut two strips 4 1/2" x

6. Arrange pieced segm ents in eight (12) diagonal rows as shown in F igure 5. Join rows; press.

7. S ew a 1 1/2" x 37" (59 1/2") green solid strip to each long side of the pieced center beginning and ending stitching 1/4" from each corner. S ew 1 1/2" x 11" green solid strip to each short side beginning and ending stitching 1/4" from each corner. M iter corners; press miter seams open and border seams toward strips. 8. Trim backing and batting pieces to sam e size as runner top. 9. P lace a green tassel at each pointed end of the runner with tassel laying atop right side of runner and loop extending beyond runner end as shown in Figure 6; pin or tack in place.

10. Place runner top and prepared backing right sides together; place batting on top. Pin to hold layers together. Sew around edge, leaving a 6" opening on one long side; remove pins. 11. Turn right side out; hand-stitch opening closed. P ress edges flat. 12. Pin or baste layers together to hold flat. H and- or machine-quilt as desired to finish.
