Second of all, you’ve got t o underst and basic human psychology. If people perceive you as a “t aker” t hey will nat urally keep t heir dist ance. People who live only for t hemselves will soon find t hat t hey are very lonely indeed. A “taker” sells. A “taker” only t hinks about her own needs. Tradit ional mlm t raining t eaches you t o adopt t his mindset . You’re t old empt y plat it udes like “Let’s go Diamond by year’s end! ” or, “MLM is a numbers game;” or even “sell X amount this month and you’ll get a huge bonus!” Uggh! Inst ead, work hard at present ing yourself as a “ giver.” A “giver” is unassuming, generous, honest , and has no hidden mot ives. Not ice I said t o “present yourself” as a giver. If you’ve been marred in a “t aker’s ment alit y” from your mlm company, you’re going t o have t o fake it for a while. Pract ice being a giver first , and you’ll at t ract t he same t ype of people int o your business. Pract ice being a giver by helping ot her people succeed, inst ead of being a “t aker” and using people t o make you succeed. Pract ice being a giver by figuring out what your prospect s need – and giving it t o t hem. It ’s not difficult , but t his change in mindset will allow you t o connect quickly and in a nat ural non-t hreat ening way wit h your prospect s. You’ll discover t hat not only do people regard you as an expert , but t hey’ll gladly go t hrough what ever hoops you send t hem t hrough when you begin screening t hem t o join your business.
