Tongan customer wins brand new vehicle from ANZ Pacific Mega Campaign

NUKU’ALOFA (ANZ): ANZ today announced Tongan customer, Dr Lia Latu Maka, as the lucky winner of the ANZ Pacific Mega Campaign II. The staff of ANZ Tonga presented Dr Maka her brand new vehicle at the bank’s Nuku’alofa branch today amidst much celebration and cheer. Dr Maka’s name was drawn from over 870,000 entries that went into the ANZ Pacific Mega Campaign from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Timor Leste, Kiribati and Solomon Islands. ANZ CEO Tonga, Bernie Poort, congratulated and thanked Dr Maka for choosing to bank with ANZ. “We’re very excited that one of our valuable customers from Tonga won this regional campaign, and in presenting you with your prize today, we simply want to say thank you. We know you have a choice, and we’d

like to thank you for your confidence and custom,” Mr Poort said. With the theme “Reward-

ing Relationships”, the Pacific Mega Campaign II provided customers with ‘chances’ to go into the

main draw to win a brand new car when using various banking products, including opening an ANZ savings

account, taking a home loan or personal loan, and even paying bills via Internet Banking.

The Pacific Mega Campaign II began 1 February 2016 and concluded 31 August 2016.

NUKU’ALOFA (ANZ): ANZ today launched the ANZ Visa Debit Card which will be available to customers across Tonga as a safe and convenient option for local, international and online transactions. Launching the ANZ Visa

Debit card in Nuku’alofa today, ANZ Tonga CEO, Bernie Poort, said: “An ANZ Visa Debit Card is like an International Access Card, only better. You can use it anywhere Visa is accepted around the world – online, over the phone,

overseas and in stores – using money from your current or savings account.” He added the increased security of the ANZ Visa Debit Card will benefit Tongan customers. “The ANZ Visa Debit Card provides added chip-ena-

bled security for ATM and EFTPOS transactions that help safeguard our customers,” Mr Poort said. Mr Poort added that customers must still safeguard their banking information by keeping their PINs confidential, changing PINs

regularly, never lending their cards to others and making sure online purchases are only via reputable websites. Customers should contact ANZ straight away if they notice any unusual transactions on their account.
