LAUNCHES
RESEARCH
DATABASE
WEBSITE

 The
Associated
Student
Government
announced
today
the
release
of
its
"ASG‐ NURD"
(Northwestern
Undergraduate
Research
Database),
which
serves
as
a
 central
research
information
website
consisting
of
research
opportunities
for
each
 college
at
Northwestern,
Office
of
Fellowships,
Study
Abroad,
and
Undergraduate
 Research
Database.
ASG
founded
ASG‐NURD
because
the
university
lacks
one
 central
website
for
research
opportunities.

 The
new
website
can
be
visited
at:
http://asg.northwestern.edu/nurd
and
is
 accessible
on
the
top
right
and
right
hand
side
of

homepage.

 ASG's
President
Neal
Sales‐Griffin
remarked,
"Never
before
has
NU
had
a
website
 that
collects
all
of
this
research
information.
We
are
really
excited
to
be
able
to
offer
 this
for
the
first
time."

 Mike
McGee,
ASG
Academic
Vice‐President
and
Chairman
of
ASG‐NURD,
remarked,
 "ASG‐NURD
serves
as
a
gateway
to
the
undergraduate
research
opportunities
that
 NU
already
has
scattered
among
dozens
of
websites.
This
service
has
long
been
 needed
by
the
student
body,
and
we
are
very
happy
that
ASG
is
able
to
provide
this
 'one
stop
shop'
for
students'
research
needs.
The
site
will
undoubtedly
facilitate
 students'
access
to
research
opportunities."

UNVEILS
OFF‐CAMPUS
HOUSING
EVALUATION
WEBSITE

 The
Associated
Student
Government
announced
today
the
unveiling
of
"ASG
Off‐ Campus
Housing
Evaluations"
(ASG
OCHE),
an
evaluation
website
similar
to
CTECS
 but
it
will
be
used
for
the
evaluation
of
off‐campus
apartments
and
landlords.

 The
new
site
can
be
visited
at:
http://www.asg.northwestern.edu/asgoche
and
is
 accessible
on
the
top
right
and
side
of
NUlink's
homepage.

 Over
the
past
two
months,
hundreds
of
students
have
contributed
to
these
housing
 evaluations.
The
evaluations,
which
cover
a
large
portion
of
off‐campus
housing,
 grade
landlords,
discuss
rental
rates,
disclose
heating
and
other
costs,
and
provide
a
 general
makeup/floorplan
for
the
apartments
listed.

 Student
help
is
still
needed
to
further
the
already
collected
evaluations.
ASG
OCHE
 will
continue
to
collect
evaluations
on
the
ASG
OCHE
website.

 ASG
OCHE
was
passed
through
the
Senate
and
was
then
created
and
launched
 through
ASG's
External
Relations
Committee.

 ASG's
President
Neal
Sales‐Griffin
remarked,
"ASG
Off‐Campus
Housing
Evaluations,
 or
ASG
OCHE,
as
we
call
it,
will
undoubtedly
help
students
better
evaluate
and
find
 off‐campus
housing.
Additionally,
the
new
website
provides
students
with
a
guide
to
 off‐campus
housing
so
they
know
what
to
look
for
in
contracts,
how
to
find
a
reliable
 landlord,
and
how
to
rent
an
apartment
that
fits
their
wishes."

 Samir
Pendse,
ASG
External
Relations
Director
and
Chairman
of
ASG
OCHE,
 remarked,
"This
service
has
long
been
needed
by
students,
and
we
are
very
happy
 that
ASG
is
able
to
cater
to
this
demand.
A
lot
of
time
and
effort
has
been
put
into
 this
project
and
now
we
hope
the
students
will
utilize
this
extremely
beneficial
off‐ campus
housing
evaluation
system."
