Located 48 km northeast of Brooks (only 10 km from Patricia) along the Red Deer River. Campground, day use picnic area and five self-guided hiking trails open year round.

EID Historical Park Scandia Our "Sleeping Giant", the Scandia Pool Elevator (built in 1927) was the first elevator in Alberta to be declared a historic resource. Come see the history of the EID.

Lake Newell Brooks Early settlement of what is now the County of Newell followed the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1883. Kinbrook Island Provincial Park is located on the eastern side of the lake.

Bassano Dam Bassano All the water delivered through the irrigation system of the Eastern Irrigation District is diverted from the Bow River at the Bassano Dam. The 1,200 irrigation farmers receive their water through a system of 4,800 kilometers (3,000 miles) of canals and drains and thirteen internal storage reservoirs.

The races will take place on Lake Newell, south of Brooks. Climb aboard and join a community-led event promoting health, wellness and engagement while reaching a multi-generational and multi cultural audience!

The museum is organized to be a “Walk Through The Ages�. Our extensive collection includes exhibits portraying the life of early ranchers, the war years, the N.W.M.P., the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and the Eastern Irrigation District.

Gem With the town of Brooks about a 45-minute drive south, and Drumheller the same distance to the north, Finnegan Ferry is one of the more remote crossings. However, for those who do make the trek, the small town of Gem welcomes visitors. DRAGON BOAT RACES

The Outdoor Swimming Pool is officially opened. Everyone is welcome to wander in, stay for a swim or a dip in the 10 person hot tub. If you are coming in from out of Town, please call in to avoid disappointment. We are open seven days per week and yet have unforeseen closures due to weather, mechanical or other. Ph.
