SCHOOL NEWS Important Information for Years 8, 9 and 10
2013 ELECTIVES YRS 8 & 9
Students in Years 8 and 9 today received their information books for electives for 2013. We encourage you to read these with your sons/daughters, talk with them and get the selection survey back by the due date (Wednesday 8th August). Please note that there can be no guarantee that all subjects in the information books will necessarily run, as this is determined by all the students choices and what works best, on balance, for the students. What subjects run, and the lines they are grouped in, is determined on the basis of the survey, so it is essential that these are thoughtfully completed and submitted on time.
NO APOLOGIES PROGRAM YRS 9 & 10
This program was created to help young people safely navigate the most critical decade of their lives - those years between the ages of 12 and 22. It is during these years that adolescents are confronted with choices that can sabotage their future. Teens need information and skills to guide them in their decision-making to avoid the consequences of high-risk behaviour. This relationship-centered curriculum is designed to educate and empower teenagers to make wise decisions and to develop positive character traits in the sexual domain. These traits include respect, responsibility, integrity, courage, self-control and honesty. We will be once again running this program as part of our Biblical Studies program later this term. Parents of our Year 9 and 10 students are encouraged to come to a brief overview meeting on either next Monday or Tuesday at 6.00pm (straight after the end of parent teacher interviews). Eisteddfod

STEPS is a homework centre for students in Years 7 – 10 in which senior students in our community assist them with completion of regular homework and with the completion of more substantial assignment tasks. If your child has been attending STEPS earlier in the year, your child should have a letter for this term outlining dates and a permission form for this term. If you would like for your child to start attending STEPS please email email@example.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Places are limited so please attempt to notify me early in the term. We look forward to another term in the Library on Wednesday afternoons, between 3:10 and 4:30pm.
