Dallas may not be near the ocean, but it has plenty of fish. The Dallas World Aquarium, located in Downtown, features more than 85 thousand gallons of saltwater and marine life from around the world. From beautiful panoramic views of coral life to the displays with live animals spanning the earth, this is truly a unique experience. For a chronicle of the life, legacy and assassination of President John F. Kennedy, be sure to check out the Sixth Floor Museum. There you will discover documentary films and photographs, plus artifacts from the November 22, 1963 event that shocked the nation. The Goss-Michael Collection is an excellent gallery to visit and appreciate artwork reflecting new and emerging creative methods of world-renowned British contemporary artists. Owned by Kenny Goss and his pop-star partner, George Michael, the Goss-Michael Collection features work from their personal collection. If you enjoy a symphony of sound, then don’t miss the The Women’s Chorus of Dallas and the most recorded men’s chorus in the world, the Turtle Creek Chorale. The Chorale has produced 33 albums and made it to the top of the Billboard charts in the classical genre, even breaking records in the Guinness Book of World Records. For 50 years, The Dallas Opera has brought stunning performances to North Texas and has presented many international stars in American debuts. For more than 65 years, Dallas Summer Musicals has brought the best of Broadway and Tony Award-winning musicals to Fair Park. Once music has filled your heart, revitalize your spiritual side at the Cathedral of Hope. As the world’s largest GLBT church, the Cathedral has a local membership of 3,500 members. With programs for both children and adults, the Cathedral welcomes everyone to attend service and participate in its various community outreach initiatives.
