Welcome to Pioneer RESA Professional Learning, Big challenges lead to unprecedented growth. From every perspective, Pioneer RESA has undergone a metamorphosis to provide continued support targeting the challenges of today. While we continue to bring research, strategies, innovations, and ideas to you, our consultants, project and program directors, and instructional technologists have focused on bringing professional learning, job-alikes, and communication opportunities to you in a virtual and/or face-to-face setting. In order to blend participants in a virtual/face-to-face format so that all participants experience a consistent, seamless, and harmonious event, Pioneer RESA is upgrading the professional learning spaces. We are incorporating a presenter tracking camera, inceiling microphones, and audience cameras. Pioneer RESA is also implementing a new service, Pioneer+. This service includes our new Grab and Go format – virtual drop-in sessions of 30 minutes or less for professional learning and conversation. This aligns with our dedication to supporting more effective, streamlined, and full-featured professional learning opportunities. Our continued focus is to provide a platform for communication through a multi-source information stream. Thank you for your continued support as we offer relevant, requested professional learning opportunities. Each year these presentations help educators stay up-to-date with legislation, rule changes, and information regarding upcoming innovations in Georgia educator preparation and certification. Description:

The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Endorsement prepares teachers to plan, model, implement and evaluate STEM content pedagogy in the field and at the grade level of their base certification. The endorsement consists of two courses delivered in a blended program format of f2f and online classes plus a STEM Immersion Experience beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

Administrator Mentoring/ Special Projects Many Pioneer RESA consultants are former system or school administrators. With successful backgrounds as K–12 administrators, they are ready to help member systems with special projects and/or mentoring of administrators. Oftentimes it is helpful not only as a service but also to have a neutral party as a partner.

Board of Education Training The goal of Pioneer RESA Board Training Services Team is to assist local systems in the selection, planning, and delivery of high-quality board training events and to assist systems in the preparation of training plans and reports. The Board Training Services offered by Pioneer RESA brings together all necessary components to fulfill the requirements mandated by the Georgia State Board of Education.

ComplianceDirector.org Compliance Director is a web-based, online training for Georgia educators to meet annual mandated training requirements. ComplianceDirector.org saves time for administrators and staff , and allows employees to take responsibility for their own training.

Cooperative Purchasing Agency Operating under the fiscal control of Pioneer RESA, Cooperative Purchasing Agency provides services for North Georgia, Northwest Georgia, and Pioneer RESA member systems. Services for participating school systems include bulk purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and distribution of school supplies.

Data and Assessment The Data and Assessment Team provides resources to member schools and systems in an effort to raise student achievement for all students. The team is focused on closing gaps in student achievement for all students. The team is focused on closing gaps in student achievement by providing timely and accurate data regarding performance on district, state, and federal assessments.


Environmental and School Safety The goal of the Coordinator of School Safety training is to assist in the identification of safety issues both inside and outside of buildings, to assist with the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans, to make recommendations for improving school safety, to assist in the coordination of training for staff as needed and to provide consultation services for the overall safety plan for the system.

External Evaluation Services Pioneer RESA External Evaluation service consultant provide objective data collection and analysis services to the schools, systems, and agencies of region. These service consultants are authorized by the 14 LEA’s to receive and house all raw student achievement data, attendance data, and perceptual data form the region’s schools. Pioneer RESA is also authorized by systems to collect perceptual data relative to projects and programs within schools and to analyze and report data and outcomes to funding agencies.

Fingerprinting Pioneer RESA offers electronic fingerprinting services. Fingerprints may be scanned at school sites or at Pioneer RESA.

Georgia Leadership Certification Pioneer RESA offers a GaPSC approved alterative certification program for those wishing to earn their Tier I Leadership Certification while employed in a leadership position. The program is a year-long program.

Georgia Learning Resource System North Center Operating under the fiscal control of Pioneer RESA, North GLRS develops and delivers regional courses and workshops throughout the school year and provides targeted professional learning and support to member systems upon determination of need.


Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports, The FUTURES Program The Data and Assessment Team provides resources to member schools and systems in an effort to raise student achievement for all students. Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) and Georgia Leadership Academy Preparation Program (GaLAPP) GaTAPP is a non-traditional educator preparation program leading to a clear renewable certificate for general and special education teachers or a technical specialist certificate for the Career, Technical, and Agriculture teacher. GaLAPP GaLAPP is an alternative leadership preparation, post-baccalaureate program designed for individuals who have not prepared as leaders in a traditional leadership preparation program. The program recognizes candidates’ earlier academic preparation and life experiences and results in recommendation for the Tier I leadership certification.

Grant Evaluation Services The Grant Evaluation Team offers a multitude of data analysis methodologies including, statistical analysis, interpretation of regional, system, school, teacher, and student level assessments. The team provides grant-generated formative and summative assessments. The team provides qualitative and quantitative survey development and analysis.

Leadership, Training, and Support The Leadership Training and Support Team at Pioneer RESA provides services and resources to assess the educational leadership needs of member systems and to deliver professional learning addressing the identified needs. We offer knowledge and skills for school leaders to optimize conditions that result in student achievement by focusing on results.

Perception Surveys As a service to the member systems of Pioneer RESA, the Director of Special Educations Projects searches for appropriate Request for Proposals for K-12 educators. Professional Learning The Professional Learning Team plans, coordinates, and delivers all Pioneer RESA facilitated courses, workshops, endorsements, and training events. Pioneer RESA offers regularly scheduled courses as well as courses and trainings upon request.

Poverty Simulation This simulation provides participants with an understanding of the challenges of living in a low-income environment. Participants will play the role of a family member living in poverty or a community service person working with families living in poverty. The poverty simulation will be able to help participants identify challenges and circumstances of children and their families living in poverty.

Salary Director SalaryDirector.org is a website dedicated to helping K-12 school systems have instant salary data in order to positively impact financial decisions. .

School Climate Services School Climate Specialists are available to all RESA schools and districts to provide ongoing training, support and coaching for implementation of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports. In addition, climate specialists can work with districts to coordinate activities such as Trauma Informed Care, Social Emotional Learning, and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Real Talk with Real Teachers RTRT is professional learning video resource library aligned to the Georgia Teacher Assessment Standards. The videos feature realteachers from Pioneer RESA member systems as they demonstrate and explain the many effective strategies that they utilize in the classrooms.
